RB prospect fumble rates

You know who else has had fumble issues? Stewart. Once ever 86 touches for Fournette isn't horrible, and certainly isn't going to hurt his stock.

Virtually all RBs who are good at gaining yards after contact are going to fumble a bit more often. It's a catch 22. You want RBs who can fight through contact and you want RBs who hang onto the football, but RBs are going to put the ball on the ground more often while trying to fight through contact.

Well said. Every time I see Stewart throwing people off him and pushing the pile I get real excited, but terrified at the same time.

Kareem Hunt is going to end up going in the 2nd round.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Kamara is not worth a first round pick. He sure is fast but his decision-making and football IQ are even worse than his fumble-rate.

Kamara wouldn't even be worh it in the 3rd round. I don't like him; he's too scary of a prospect with his absurd decision making.

Not to knock the OP but this is a regular occurrence on the Huddle...great thread title which hooks the readers, a link to the article, zero analysis. I don't want to click on the link. Just tell me what you read and your analysis.  We can all make threads like this but don't bc we know how to read. Thread creation should always lend itself to some semblance of analysis.

Like I said...the thread hooked me but I left immediately...maybe not immediately, I wrote this.

Even running backs that don't fumble can get reputations for fumbling.

    • KP is not a straight up carbon copy but they look awful close to me.  T
    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
