Game Film

stirs

Recommended Posts

Scott Wright has stepped up his game a bit and with each guys profile, he includes game film.

I have been watching DE's and Barnett has one play on a stunt, but the rest of the game, is non existent.  He will have to play edge rusher in the 34 D in my opinion when in the NFL

Same with Hendrickson.  Extremely fast closing speed, but gets pushed around in running game

It is addictive for draft nuts.

Enjoy

Some nice stuff! Thanks for sharing.

For those of you really interested in the WR's and RB's this draft, a draftnik by the name of Matt Waldman (who I personally believe is one of the best out there) has a nice compilation of in-depth analysis on many players. He usually comes out with a whole package of information with every player analyzed in depth around April, but he does post snippets of his work on his webpage.

He's rather been accurate in his rankings and projections, and he really explains his thought process at what he's looking for and what scouts may be looking for as well. One of the more knowledgeable guys out there I found rather recently.

He posts many of his things in the following webpage, and I recommend everyone take a look if you're into this kind of stuff:

Very informative stuff.

I checked out M Maye since we worked him out today.  Seems to have some decent instincts in the pass game, but struggles in the running game.  Takes bad angles, does not carry a big stick either

Very good film on Obi also

I have no idea why we continue to call it film or tape

no one is spinning and projecting film onto a screen like its 1970.

its a damn file

So is most of Hollywood's stuff now but do we really want to say "hey have you seen that new File LaLa land, yea that thing needs to be deleted."

DraftCountdown used to be my original fave draft site before all of the blogs and 'experts' popped up. For awhile, Scott and the guys over there slipped on coverage and didn't update frequently enough.

Agree with Saca - Matt Waldman's Boiler Room is some, if not the best, X's and O's analysis of draftees out there. Dude knows his game and is real enjoyable.

He has the same concerns about Fournette that I've seen. Stick him deep in the backfield with a runway to get started and watch him work. Have him taking handoffs in the shotgun or having to work through traffic without that head of steam and he's not the same back. Which style of run game do we have?

The same reason we tell people to roll down their window by moving our fist in small circles instead of miming pushing a button.

    • Got to give some credit to the coaching staff on these. You can grab top talents but without good coaching, they just fizzle out. We've seen that a lot around here.
    • Oh, no TV for tonight's game unless you have the NHL Network, I believe. I could be wrong, hopefully?
    • Early returns are great and exciting but also worth noting that Gettleman had a few drafts that looked incredible early on and wound up mostly sucking (2014 mainly). Also PFF; grain of salt, etc.    I'm completely sold on Tet being a stud, knocked a high pick out of the park like we needed to and always should. Nearly sold on Scourton. Not sold on Princely but he had flashes. Not sold on Etienne as more than a 3rd stringer and special teamer, but that's not terrible for his draft position. Big fan of Ransom and think he'll be a starter.  Cam Jackson : IDK, I see limited upside but we didn't see much of him Evans was a nice find for draft position and he had a great rookie year for a late round rookie TE with plenty of veteran competition. Not sure about his upside though, seems like best case is a long term #2/3 TE, which isn't bad. Jimmy Horn, personally I didn't see a damn thing from him that impressed me all year. And he got a lot of opportunities. Pulling for the kid, but not convinced he's an NFLer.   UDFA: Fitzgerald was an amazing find
