Justice League

BvS was very close to being a pretty damn good movie, a lot of the hate that movie gets is undue criticism. SS on the other hand was just awful.

Basically DC needs to stay afloat for two more movies: WW and Justice League. After that they will be free of Snyder's terrible decision making and Geoff Johns will be head of creative control.

We just need Justice League to be decent. We kinda need WW to be a home run because comic book movies are sorely lacking a female lead.

I'm a big fan of DC characters, and Green Lantern is my favorite so I'm just praying DC learned from its mistakes and won't repeat them again.

Justice League already looks to have more humor than BvS which is a great sign. Still not a fan of Snyder's dark toned fetish but whatever.

People keep saying it's DC but the ones in control here is WB. DC can't do anything but nod in agreement or just see Batman movies get made for the next 20-30 years.

Johns isn't exactly who I'd hire to oversee the DCU. The guy has conceived some crappy concepts. I would have preferred Timm but I think he got himself blacklisted for something.

Visually, this film will kick ass but I'm worried about the need to cater to those idiots who are in love with Marvel's cookie cutter formula. I haven't enjoyed an MCU film in quite awhile outside Dr Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I kinda like it. It looks very Watchmen-esque.

would have rather had Timm as well

We'll see but the DCU isn't a flop thus far. It's made almost two billion. Critically, it's a clusterfug but the hyperbole was extreme for BvS and SS.

Money wise, yes its been a success. As far as making a Home Run movie, not so much imo.

BvS had its moments (mainly Batfleck and Wonder Woman) but just missed the mark for me. It felt like they tried to fit 5 lbs of crap into a 3lbs bucket. I could not get into to SS at all. Leto's joker was terrible and ruined it for me.

I'm hoping Wonder Woman is good. The trailers look awesome. Justice League looks like it will be fun. Momoa's Aquaman was badass.

Looks like it has potential. BvS was terrible. I will say the extended version was a better film but still not good. Suicide Squad was one of the worst films I've seen in a while.

That said of course I will waste my money and go see this. I hope they bring back Batman's more cunning qualities in future films. I got the sense that in BvS he was a what you see is what you get type of guy. You don't get the feeling that he has something up his sleeve at all times. Which was something Nolan/Bale had, almost Bond-esque.

DC movies have got casting all wrong, for years, fycking years. Aquaman is the only thing they've done right since Micheal Keaton. Look at Marvel. They killed off Hugh Jackman to recast. That's bold. Needed but bold. There is no hope for DC.

    • Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own.  So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks?    2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
