I wish people were more creative.  They remake everything now.  Or maybe I am just getting old and they have always remade at this pace.

I still think it will be hard to top the original.   IT IMO isn't really that easy to pull off as a remake.   Clowns are tough to get right.

To be fair this isn't a remake, this is another (more faithful) adaptation of the book. King has seen it and said he absolutely loves it.

The trailer looks great, I'm cautiously optimistic.

The book was 1143 pages, really tough to fit it all in a movie... the old mini series couldn't due it justice with 4+hrs of tv time, but tv....

trailer does look intriguing, ain't tryin to lie....

yes, Hollywood is out of ideas, have been for a while. That's why there's 8 fast & furious, 3 phases of Marvel movies, 7 signed StarWars movies, all the biographies & "true stories" and old tv shows making the modern big screen.. I think it was MrScot years ago posted a list of movie reboots in the works, quite a few have been done already.... Still waiting on the damn Swamp Thing......

If Annette O'Toole isn't in it, idgf.

;)

Stephen King is hard to translate over to film. Cujo could be remade today and show the thoughts of the dog, the way the book did. Cujo was a good boy, yes you were! eh...

The Gunslinger, or Dark Tower, should be a tv show, HBO.. but they think they can do movie series instead. Mistake. imo

Remakes annoy me but let's be honest, a lot of King's stuff needs remade, and that's just because his vision can be better realized nowadays with movie making.

Take The Stand for instance.   That could be an epic series of movies and is the scope would be larger nowadays.

Some stuff shouldn't be.  Christine is fine, etc.

Dark Tower series would be fuggin awesome, done right of course, I'd really like to see that...

A new Stand could be really good too, just get TrashcanMan right...

Really, thinking about Hollywood being out of ideas, and how movies turn into long-running franchises, there's 2 you could get from King novels. 1 series of movies on Flagg, The Walking Dude from The Stand, Flagg from Eyes of the Dragon and he was in the Dark Tower & more.. Also do Bangor, or is it Castle Rock? The town he made up in Maine for a few of his stories, I remember references in a few books to Sheriff Pangborn, who was killed by Cujo...

Wiki says there's a DarkTower in the making with McConaughey as Flagg, or Walter o'Dim as it were....

    • If we lose tomorrow we’d have to sweep the Bucs in order to get into the playoffs. With a loss tomorrow the Bucs would then hold the tie breaker if we finished tied If we can’t split with NO then we sure as hell not sweeping Tampa It’s win or go home tomorrow in my eyes  Biggest game since 2017 playoff game imo
    • Grok AI: No, there are no credible reports that the Carolina Hurricanes offered Jake Guentzel the same contract terms as Tampa Bay (7 years, $63 million total, $9 million AAV) before he signed with the Lightning. Reliable sources, including The Athletic, consistently reported that Carolina’s offer during negotiations was an eight-year deal worth $64 million ($8 million AAV). Guentzel did not accept it promptly, leading the Hurricanes to trade his negotiating rights to Tampa Bay on June 30, 2024, for a 2025 third-round pick. He then quickly signed the 7x$9M deal with the Lightning on July 1, 2024. Guentzel himself later reflected (in 2025 interviews) that staying in Carolina was his initial preference, but negotiations stalled and “didn’t work out,” with Tampa’s opportunity becoming a “no-brainer.” No reports from outlets like ESPN, NHL.com, or insiders (e.g., Elliotte Friedman, Pierre LeBrun, Frank Seravalli) indicate Carolina ever matched or offered the Lightning’s exact terms—total money, AAV, or length. The extra year was Carolina’s key advantage, but they reportedly stuck closer to $8M AAV and moved on when Guentzel explored options.
