Some notes from my source

According to the Chicago Tribune, there was "scuttlebutt in league circles" Monday night that the 49ers could take Leonard Fournette at No. 2 overall.

Ex-NFL personnel man Greg Gabriel tweeted something similar on Tuesday. The Chicago Trib's Brad Biggs also passes along "chatter" that the Jaguars are looking into quarterbacks at the No. 4 pick, while it's believed at least half of the teams drafting inside the top ten hope to move down. If a team like the 49ers can't execute a move down the board, we suppose it's possible they could settle for someone like Fournette. It's been reported that the 49ers are considering "giving up" on contract-year RB Carlos Hyde due to persistent injuries.

Jags would be very smart to take Watson

Any of these teams that need QB would certainly be smart to take Watson.  If any of these QBs will work and figure it out it will be him.  I think he is similar to Mariota who is coming along nicely.  More of a wild card is Trubisky.  Talent wise it all there physically but as a Heel fan who watched him a lot he is a quiet guy.  I don't see that alpha dog mentality that just takes the drivers seat (a la Watson).  The great ones have that and I have not seen that with him.

The Jaguars are legitimately interested in Deshaun Watson, internal debate over him/edge rusher/o-line to include Howard. Not a smokescreen like San Fran.

Other chatter in the top five indicates the Jaguars, three years removed from selecting Blake Bortles third overall, could go with a quarterback at No. 4. Whether it's legitimate or a ploy designed to attract a trade partner is anyone's best guess but unconnected sources emphasized they are in play for a passer and they are known to have brought Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes in for pre-draft visits.

Well it looks like no players will be left for us to take at 8:

Speaking with league sources, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah came away with the opinion that he "wouldn't be shocked" if Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey is picked before the Panthers' selection at No. 8 overall

Per Jeremiah, McCaffrey and Temple LB Haason Reddick are two of the "hottest" names in league circles at the moment. McCaffrey has long been connected to the Panthers at No. 8, but his stock continues to soar and it sounds like there's a real possibility he could be the top back off the board. We'd still bet on it being LSU's Leonard Fournette, but McCaffrey likely won't be far behind. "He produces points," Jeremiah's sources said about McCaffrey as the reason teams love him.

Verge I made a post questioning you in the All Pro forum based on the claim earlier this thread that every team has Adams top 2 on their board, and I still find that ridiculous, but I gotta say I really hope you/your source are spot on regarding the Jags. If it's right, Fournette is likely ours.

I mean, how would he know that every team has Garrett is at the top of every board? Scouts talk, people leak stuff, they don't keep everything secret about the top players.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
