Don't know how Ryan falls to our 2nd

yeah that's what I said in the intro post. Doesn't make a lick of sense , he won't make it past the playoff teams at the end of the 1st who probably almost all of them could use a young top tackle propsect to groom into a starter. Half the teams in the league could use better tackles probably

That white boy Fast And would give defensive coordinators nightmares preparing for him cam and friends I don't understand why all these comments are so harsh on him, yeah he's smaller than average but he is a weapon at Slot, kick off returner and Rb when the right plays are called but I get why y'all think we need an immediate impact player if we could get our Defensive line right we could be in good position but we will see soon enough

You guys just don't seem to get it...

McCaffery + Panthers Offense = DOES NOT WORK

At the NFL level he's not a 20-25+ carry guy, he's your change of pace swiss army nice. He's a match-up player split out / motioned from the back filed.

He's not gonna be our lead back, and at 8, it's way too high. Now if he were to drop to the 2nd @ 40 (which is unlikely) I could see it making more sense. At #8 you need to be drafting immediate impact players. Franchise position players.

Especially if people agree with the Reggie Bush comparisons (Bush was better IMO) and he went 2nd overall that year. However his Franchise impact was minimal. It will be the same with McCaffery.

McCaffery fits perfect in our offense.

Instead of stupid end arounds with ginn that do nothing, we will have a lot of legit misdirection plays and when we run those 35 step drop back passes, instead of Cam getting creamed he will have a legit dump off target out of the backfield.

Not saying I want CMC, but he fits just fine in our offense.

Yeah no way he makes it pass broncos, sea, or Giants. Then you got the teams in front of us in the second round

This post couldn't be any more wrong.

I do want him, and I agree, he fits us almost perfectly.  Would immediately be the best KR, PR, Slot WR, and possibly RB on the roster....day 1.

He could make our offense lethal.

P.S. Fournette, while very talented, isn't generational....or even super special for that matter.  You can't make it long in the NFL trucking everyone...and he won't show us any wiggle....stop and start....etc...

You're over-exaggerating here.. Cam's drop backs are no more than thirty steps tops

Who says he has to be our lead back? Stew is gonna be here another year. Next years draft class is loaded with RB talent as well. Definitely not the worst we could do at 8 and fills multiple holes in the roster with one pick.

Thats great and all, when we are in 3rd and long situations. 1st down we run and 2nd down we run. As I have mentioned before I just dont think we can be creative enough to showcase his skills. He is extremely talented, dont get me wrong and if we take him as our pick I will be happy to eat crow. Just believe there are better holes to fill with that pick is all, though Cam could use some shiny new weapons.

To begin with the offense the Panthers run is Air Coryell/ Power. Nothing about McCaffery says power as a RB. So drafting as a RB in our offensive system is idiotic. Now he is perfect for a slot receiver, and optional 3rd down back, with great return ability as a bonus. If we draft him it should be as a receiver not a back. We should then draft a true power back later in the draft, such as Foreman (poor mans Fournette) in the 5th or 6th round.

R1 P8 : Christian McCaffrey, RB, Stanford , 5'11'' , 202lbs (We've already talked about this ad naseum here. I'll just say I'm okay with this pick)

R2 P8 : Ryan Ramcyzk , OT, Wisconsin, 6'6'' 310lbs  (How the fug does he drop that far? Is he not the top rated tackle in the draft?)

R2 P32: Justin Evans , S, Texas A&M , 6'0'' , 199lbs  (Solid pick)

Pick 98 : Dauwane Smoot, DE, Illinois , 6'3'' , 264lbs  (Pretty solid for our Comp pick, I'd rather get a TE or WR there but okay)

R4 P8 : Josh Malone , WR, Tennessee , 6'3'' 203lbs (Who??)

R5 P8 : Eric Saubert, TE, Drake, 6'5'' 253lbs (A TE with drop problems in the 5th? haha)

Overall The first 4 picks aren't great looking but all solid. R4 and R5 are pretty WTF but admittedly Gettleman always has at least a couple WTF picks in a draft.

R2 P8 would make the R1 a great pick,Smoot as some Talent and Malone i think is a good value and sleeper in this draft...Overall i would take this draft...

I dont think anyone is projecting reuban foster to go in the top 7. If he's there, we should definitely consider him. Whats better than having 1 keuchly? 2 keuchlys! And plus thomas davis is near the end of his career. Once he leaves, its gnna be harder for kuechly cuz he'll need to carry the load. Having a young stud to groom would really help. Plus if soloman thomas or the top 3 dbs are off the board, theres no reason to go elsewhere. Mccaffery, cook, barnett, are not better than foster. If foster had his character in control, he would be going top 5. Dont deny the talent
