his cap hit for 2018 would be ~$8.5m.

no thank you.

he can easily be replaced at that kind of money.

Nothing is "easily replaced" in the NFL.  What if we decide not to pay him, and he completely balls out in the new offense?

Now he's an unrestricted FA....the tag is in play, or an extension...both would cost more than picking up the tag now.

Again, you are getting him for 5.25 average over the next two....it's worth it to me to see if a player that was selected in the 1st round, and missed a full year can do.

It's bewildering how some of our fans seem to practically get off on perceived failures of our players. We've had to deal with it for years with Cam, any mistake and suddenly the I told you so idiots start piling on. Rinse, repeat. Failure of one key player hurts our team, our franchise.

Eventually this fanbase will have to figure out that you get what you give. You give poo you get poo. At times people here sound no better than Saints fans. Just fickle cry babies.

Gettleman's philosophy is that to win in the NFL you have to run the ball, stop the run and sack the qb.

Gettleman doesn't value the WR position. He had a team led by Ted Ginn/Corey Brown/Jerricho Cotchery make the super bowl.

You think he's going to pay a lazy wr $8.5m without first seeing what he's getting? The only reason he will do that is his ego. He drafted KB in the first and would look dumb for doing so if he doesn't pick up the option.

I think using that $8.5m next year on Star would be a much better option.

Im not quite following you. KB had a whole offseason after getting hurt. Then a whole season. And now another half-off-season. I'm not as impatient with his weight as other are being, but I still wish he would create good habits for himself while he's in his prime. He'll have a longer and more productive career that way.

No you're wrong this is his first full off season last off season he was still rehabbing think before you speak

I usually agree with ya, Red, but allowing yourself to balloon up in the off-season (even if it isn't 280 lbs) is not a "mistake".  He didn't "mistakenly" stuff his face.  I'm betting he actually picked up that pizza in his own little hands and fed himself.  A LOT.

Its not a "mistake".  Its an act of unprofessionalism.  ESPECIALLY at the position he plays.

    • It's actually interesting you mention Richardson because I've seen it suggested here Bryce will have 500 or more rushing yards and 5-10 rushing touchdowns this year. And if big Anthony Richardson can get hurt carrying the rock what's that tell you about the practicality of thinking Bryce won't?
    • I mean, I get why the media and some NFL and Carolina fans are saying that we don't have a real chance, but as many Huddlers should know, we won't know what we really have in this team until probably late September or early October at the earliest. And I'm not trying to be a homer, I'm just looking at things historically. Obviously I'm also looking at Bryce's "palatable" improvement the last half of last season (including being the catalyst for hanging with and nearly beating the Super Bowl participants), and the new additions that we've acquired overall. I'm also looking at the beginnings of a culture change--even if perceptibly subtle--to some degree indeed may take a foothold if things start falling the right way. But, overall, I'm still cognizant of the realization that things could just go south and that perhaps that Bryce could revert and flop, or that D & D (Dan and Dave) are not the answer, but I still am not ready to say "we're far away." Hell we could be close, albeit with growing pains, but even if we're on the course to bring legit in 2026, then guys like Ramsey would be welcome additions this season. That's just my take on it. I don't think we'll know that we're far away until some point in the season. If we can compete in the South...who knows?
    • You guys remember when the narrative on here was that Bryce would be chronically injured in the NFL due to his size and Anthony Richardson would be super durable due to his? You remember when the narrative was that Bryce was physically incapable of throwing a ball further than 20 yards in the NFL? You remember “I’ll stop complaining when he throws for more than 200 yards and looks like an NFL quarterback”? You remember when 60 sacks was his fault and not the offensive line, slow WRs, and terrible scheme? Pepperidge Farm remembers. It will always be something for some people. Whatever insanity they come up with will be quickly dropped to move on to the next thing. Bryce could have an MVP Super Bowl winning season and they would complain that we can’t run the tush push with him. It will always be something.
