Unpopular Panthers Opinions

What are some of your unpopular Panthers opinions? Can be past or present...

My biggest right now: Mike Shula isn't as bad as we think.  I think he's going to effectively know how to use McCaffrey and Samuel which will cause matchup nightmares for teams day 1.  I think the bigger problem was Gettleman, who was drafting size instead of athletes.  He finally seems to have changed that philosophy though, and I think it's gonna save his job and get us back into the playoffs next year.

Some more:

-Jake Delhomme in SB 38 was the best game a Panther quarterback has ever played.  Ever.  This may not be unpopular, idk

-Even after a 6-10 later, I think we handled the Josh Norman situation correctly

-I think Oher plays next year and plays well

People greatly over-estimate the impact of the dual TEs of Shockey and Olsen back in 2011.

Olsen had 45 catches for 540 yards.. Shockey had 37 catches for 455 yards yards. That's 82 catches for 995 yards combined. Olsen has been outdoing that by himself the last three seasons. Letting Shockey go allowed Olsen to become the great TE that he's been for us.

Kelvin Benjamin and Devin Funchess aren't as bad as everyone on this board makes them out to be

Ben Boulware is extremely overrated and won't ever sniff the 53 man roster

We handled the Smitty situation as good as we could have at the time. The media made it out to be as bad as it seems right now.

    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
    • Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
