i know this has potential to become tinder box materail but im curious. how does everyone feel about lavar ball and what he says on social media and on television. I myself am mixed about it as i agree and disagree with him depending on the situation. Here is a video of his latest conversation and also interesting view point on it.

here is the interview

And here is a viewpoint on it.

He's trying to be a big business mogul and he's way over his skis. Trying to cash in on his kid's success and, in the process, making himself a pretty toxic product. No team wants a publicity challenge or a PR nightmare and there's every reason in the world to believe this guy is just that. There will come a time when he will offend the sensibilities, morals or values of an owner and his kid is going to pay the price. He's so sure the Lakers are going to draft his son, but he might want to check Magic Johnson's thoughts on this whole thing before Tuesday.

To be honest, if he's actually trying to build the business and wanting $2B for it, then asking a question about product sales is directly relevant to that $2B valuation.

Was looking for a thread on this, lol.

Lavar can be over the top at times, but I'm not mad at him for how he handled the interview on the Colin show. First, that lady questioned his parenting. Said his sons are scared of him and how Lonzo needs to speak for himself. Excuse me for bringing race into this, but you can't win with some folks. One minute were hearing over and over how the black man needs to be in his kids life, and how we're never there. Then the next, you've got this lady questioning Lavars parenting, telling him he needs to fall back. She was out of line, and wondered why Lavar acted the way he did. She acted like she was trying to be Lonzo's savior from the big bad Lavar. Lonzo looks to genuinely respect his father, and maybe this is what he wants. I would've shut her out too, and my words would've been harsher towards her. Don't tell me how to raise my sons, and when you do, don't expect me to be cordial with you.

Anyway lol. I got to rambling, but that's how I feel. I also fully support BBB now. That 500 is a steep price, but I will be purchasing myself and my little cousin a pair.

I think the media needs to be held accountable for giving him such a platform..because i'm personally tired of seeing ESPN/FS1 milk him for his hot takes one hour then use the flames they help spread as debate on if he's a good father, should he hush..whatever way they wanna spin it.

What is he doing wrong?

He is doing what a father is suppose to do. He is supporting his son. Some may say he is putting pressure on his son...yeah that's because he believe in his son on court ability to perform. He is taking his family name and making it a global brand.

If his son balls out, it's a big win. If not it is a big failure. He is taking a risk, but he believes in his son. What more can you ask from a father?

Guys like him is why i got out of youth coaching.

Guys like him were a dime a dozen. He complains about his son not getting playing time or where in the batting order he hits. He complains about practice being too short or too long and i can go on and on.

He has severe vicariously living thru his sons syndrome and is an absolute jackass.

His son will go to the Lakers and be a mediocre version of Jason Kidd.

And spare me the underlying tones based on the context of ONE interview.

Go back and read up on Todd Marinovich. His dad was called to task as well. Its called being held to account when you put yourself out there. He can do what he wants but the dude has an all consuming ego of Trump proportions.
