If you think Cooks is the least physical football player you've seen, you're in for a treat with Ginn.  Dude can't find the sidelines fast enough.

It literally can not be any worse. Cooks would catch a ball, try to juke back and forth, and fall over untouched in the fetal position.

Fair points, not sure on Cooks as I haven't watched him other than when we play him.  Drew is a great QB as much as I hate to say it, but the reason most of us here question him is solely on his age.

No one beats Father Time.  Drew will hook up with Ginn a few times sure, but every single time that ball is hanging in the air headed in TG's direction will be a butthole tightening experience.  Trust me on this.

I'm really not expecting much lol. The picture was to troll, which seems like it worked. He'll catch some and drop some. I'm ok with it. He'll be the guy to take the top off most of the time.

Ginn is a downgrade to replace Cooks. You can't really argue with that.

No one, outside of Carolina, is expecting Ginn to replace Cooks. We don't need a Cooks replacement. We need a deep threat. Ginn is that.

Pretty obvious. Regardless of how that saints fan wants to look through rose colored glasses Cooks was almost 50% better at YAC and has way better hands. Big downgrade especially to swap for a backup OT who likely doesn't play tackle until Brees retires.

It's almost as if I actually watch every Saints game, and not just look at a stat sheet. MT abd Snead offer much more for turning short throws into long gains,  because they have the ability to break a tackle and make guys miss. Just off the top of my head I can name 3 plays where Cooks got over 50% of his YAC, while being untouched. Which is why I said, the only way he gives you YAC is if he's behind the defense.

if Ginn can't have success with Brees, then he truly needs to send Cam half his earnings because Cam was the only one that could get him paid

I can disagree. I don't know if Ginn is a good fit in a quick hit West Coast system. Not nearly reliable enough. At least with us, his main value came from his work down the field where you could live with drops as long as it is offset with big gains.

    • They may be meaningless in the sense of wins and losses but this team isn't yet at a place where that is honestly all that matters  It's full of young players that need to make progress for us to compete consistently and this (multiple players in a year getting it) is evidence that's starting to happen.
    • This argument takes nuance, but I see both sides of it.  Bryce's good games, he's one of the best in the league, without a question. Lately, his really good games have been few and far between, though we are riding on a career best day last week. His bad games are not NFL quality. Hard to argue that as well.  He reminds me of Cam Newton in one way. They are both such statistical anomalies that evaluating them can be extremely difficult. QB roulette is absolutely no path to success. Furthermore, we have literally watched our franchise recently let 3 QBs go that left and proved they could still do it at a high level. I definitely give Bryce this season, and probably next season.  If Bryce can be the good version of Bryce more consistently it's crazy to let him walk. With the inconsistencies too, I think we could probably get a team friendly deal. If he can't bring next year's roster to the playoffs, he's not the guy, period.  I do think Bryce is always going to be a guy that requires a quality offensive line due to his physical limitations. I think we can do it, but it's a factor to consider.  You have to account for that money, and Damien Lewis, Robert Hunt and Taylor Moton are all between 28-31. If he's our guy for the next 10 years, it does appear he's going to have a top quality #1 receiver to get the ball to.
