DeAngelo Williams' next move

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

He's becoming a wrestler.

Williams is scheduled to compete in a tag team match with Moose (former NFL offensive lineman Quinn Ojinnaka) at Impact’s Slammiversary XV pay-per-view on July 2 in Orlando, where they will face Chris Adonis and Eli Drake.

In April, Williams and his former Panthers teammate Gary Barnidge rescued Moose from an attack by another wrestler, so it makes sense that they’d team up in the future.

While he doesn’t have the star power of a Rob Gronkowski (which explains the fact Williams is not appearing at a WWE event), he has long been a fan.

The Steelers let him walk as a free agent this offseason. The 34-year-old gained 343 yards on 98 carries last year, so it seems his football days have passed.

How you feel about MMA?

Love it, but that's a real sport.

But, I will say that I'm not a big fan of the swing the UFC has taken under new ownership. Seems like it's getting more WWE-esque by the day. This whole McGregor/Mayweather deal, plus all the press conference brawls, etc. Eh... not liking it.

Exactly how I feel. I'm a fan of the old WEC days. Urijah Faber, Benson Henderson, and those boys. Those were the glory days.

Yep, I was a big fan of the WEC. Donald Cerrone is my favorite active fighter and has been a long time.

I'm a big MMA fan, but I'm honestly not sure that I'm going to last long term as most of my favorite fighters are probably nearing the end of their careers and these up and comers just aren't appealing to me for the most part. Too much WWE style bullshit. Watching Chuck Liddell back in 2000 is what got me started on MMA and I weathered that old guard's retirement and found new favorites, but I don't know... this current batch of youngsters just isn't really doing it for me.

McGoober is ruining it for everyone. He's a marketing genius but it takes the fun out of it for me as a martial arts fan.

And agreed. My favorite guys from the last generation are probably Condit and Wonderboy and both got screwed out of a decision in their last title fights.

I really like Robbie Lawler, but IMO he should've lost both those fights vs. Hendricks as well as the Condit fight.

I don't blame McGregor. He's just looking out for himself, but I do blame the UFC for letting him just run amok and do basically whatever he wants. Now you have every champ thinking he can call his own shots and hand pick fights and it's the UFC's fault for creating that situation because they've allowed McGregor to do exactly that.
