Carolina Panthers waive Ryan Delaire and Charles Johnson (WR)

We desperately need to make a move for a WR before the season starts.

Hurney has always at least tried to put 2 WR's out there.

He signed Muhammad back in 08, signed Keyshawn in 06. Had every reason to believe Colbert could be a legit number 2 in 05.

He also acknowledged the fact it's a different league now and it's more of a passing league, I'm hopeful he addresses this position somehow still.

It's better than trading for Armanti and Everette. I will give you that

Hey, it's all about learning from your past. Subtle, but sensible moves that may mean something better in the grand scheme of things.

Will have to be after preseason then when cuts happen.

No one that knows anything had either of these guys on the roster this year.  I wouldn't put much stock into it.

    • Backup QB has been an issue of mine for a long time but not just for Bryce and Dalton. We have never really been able to develop QBs or build an offense around strengths. Dalton isn't going to move the needle one way or another. The problem is in our FO and possibly coaching staff (current staff undetermined as of yet). I'm of the belief that you always try to get better. Dalton wasn't good other than one game against an abysmal defense. Churn the roster, including backup QB. If BY isn't the guy we've got to start over anyway. Who knows. We might actually find someone good. Other teams have done it before.
    • Lol. Worst case? I think you mean most likely result. I don't think people are going to be wasting much breath on Dalton or QB2 if Bryce flounders this year. It's going to be people calling for coaches, GM's and owners heads for the mess we got ourselves in with Bryce in the first place. Rightfully so.
    • I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
