I'll say this about Ben Boulware

Shaq and TD need a backup.  I think last year Jeremy Cash played a role there, but there's talk about moving him to safety.  Whether they do that or not, I personally don't think it would matter.  I would put Cash and Boulware on an even playing field for the back up position. (Of course Cash has shown to be a good special teams player)

It still baffles me that we wanted Cash to move to LB when the position was stacked and we were starved for talent at safety. Seems to be a classic case of over-complicating what should have been a no brainer move.

He wasn't a good pure safety in college.

Boulware is the guy that runs down at 200% speed on the opening kickoff and ends someone's life and acts like he won the superbowl about it.  That when he's on your team it gets you up off the couch yelling after 1 play and if he's on the other team you're like 'dude it's not the superbowl get over it'.

I hope I see that on some opening kickoffs.  We've missed that player for a while.

Could completely believe us keeping him.  While I hope it never happens, Luke has to be on thin ice with these concussions...wouldn't be surprised if they keep him around and let him learn from the best MLB in the league, just incase one day he needs to fill his shoes.

If you've got two of the greatest linebackers to play the game (TD and Luke), with one at the twilight of his career and the other one just one more concussion away from leaving the game, you have to find a way to put a guy like Boulware on your team. The lifetime of players in this league is too short and finding a berserker with a brain like him isn't so easy. You have to grab those fellows while you can. Stick him on special teams and let him wreak havoc while he learns (and puts on muscle mass).

And do not try to get cutesy and try to stash him on the practice squad. Some guy like Belichick is just watching, waiting for him to hit that waiver wire.

Seven linebackers, because we can get to five far to quickly for comfort.

MLB and OLB are very different positions, as evidenced by watching Luke and Beason both be quite mediocre at OLB. Will be interesting to see how they use Boulware in the preseason but he seems like much more of a true MLB than anything else.

He always seemed like an outside linebacker in college.  I'll have to look at some highlight videos of his, but I thought he played OLB with Clemson.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
