NFL Game Pass has screwed me up. Need HUDDLE help

Hi Huddle friends.

As some of you will know, I just left the US a few days ago after a short vacation.  I'm on my way back to Africa, where I'll be based for 18 months, but in the meantime, I'm in Europe for 2 weeks of conferences.

I just renewed my NFL game pass subscription and fully expected to be able to watch last night's game.  But it turns out Game Pass is cracking down somehow and now I will ONLY be able to use my subscription in Africa.  I can find no way to access my game pass subscription from here in Germany.

I'm dealing with the gamepass folks and may cancel my subscription for the time being...

But in the meantime, I haven't been able to watch last night's game.  (I did catch much of the 1st half via WBT on the radio).

Does any Huddler have a recording of the game you can somehow send me?   Please PM me if you can help.

Thanks!

Yes. Get yourself a VPN and set your country to Africa.

Thanks, yes this is an option.  But I've already got a VPN subscription.... unfortunately it doesn't have any West African servers, since it's what I use to get access to the US & European servers while I'm in Africa.   I may have to consider a second VPN service that has a wide range of African servers...

If I don't get a satisfactory answer from Game Pass, I'll have to go this route.

People have been using VPNs to buy the European packages then using them in the US. This is just probably trying to combat that, but unless the US stops all VPN traffic its not gonna do much.

What's the difference between EU and US packages?

With EU packages and other non-US markets, you can watch games live.  In US packages I think you can only see replays of the game after it's over.  Prices also vary by market.  Blackouts affect some European countries...

I think Game Pass must have somehow stepped up it's VPN detection and I'm wondering if that's part of the reason I had such problems last night.  I tried using my VPN and logging into game pass from a variety of Asian countries to see if it helped, and several of them still recognized that I was in Germany (even though I was using VPN servers in India or Singapore) and kept giving me messages that my Game Pass subscription was invalid in Europe.  Welp!

Can you use my DirectTV app and watch my DVR? The Bachelorette records are my wife's. I swear.

LOL, thanks for offering.  If that seems to be the only / best route, I'll let you know by private message.   I'm still hoping Game Pass will come through with a solution.  I've been a 4 year subscriber.  Hope that counts for something and I can somehow have a multi-market subscription...

The African VPN option may well work as well and help me out next week as well when I'll still be in Europe.

Will keep you all posted.

I don't know if this will help at all. But WCCB, channel 18 in Charlotte, is replaying the game this Sunday the 13th at 1:00 pm. They've done it every preseason. Checked the schedule, they're doing it again this year.

Have you checked youtube? Despite the NFL's rules you can catch games either live or full recording on youtube. I've downloaded most of the 2015 games from there. Search "Carolina Panthers" because there's a Florida Panthers NHL team.

Hello, I have had experience with gamepass in Europe. The thing about Gamepass is that it has a different price in every country. (which is why you were geoblocked)  There were countries there the price for a season was actually 20 bucks! Anyways, work with gamepass to get it restored. It is by far the best service to watch games on....even here in the US.  I have an email address to gamepass europe rep if you need it.

    • Would Morgan or Beason have been HOFers' if injuries hadn't derailed their careers?  I was not a close watcher of the game when Morgan was in his prime but I thought Beason had a few seasons at close to Lukes' level of play.
    • Franchise QBs feast when things are rolling and the tide that raises boats when things are going sideways.  Bryce isn't that. He's a complimentary player, that's it.  When the defense and STs are on point, he plays loose and it shows.  When we are in a dog fight and things haven't gone our way, he struggles.  It's that simple. He's not a horrible QB, but he's not top tier either.  So the question begs, is this worthy of a second contract?  The answer should be no.  It definitely is my answer. Bryce will never be a QB that can produce wins largely on his arm.  That's a FRANCHISE QB, any other QB is simply a placeholder at the starter's position until that guy can be found.   At some point the excuses of lack of weapons will be a straw man.  Heck, it's nearly there now.  I mean if he doesn't look even better than last year will we blame it on the TE position?  'Well if Bryce only had a player like Kelce, Kittle or Gronk on this team...'  Are we really going to do that?
    • When I arrived at college, I was 18, not too much younger than some of these draft picks.  It was not a huge school, but there were guys on the team who were 21, 22, 23....playing ahead of me.  I was seventh on the depth chart.  Those guys have been through a few seasons, were stronger, more knowledgeable.  I was a better raw player than some of them, but those other factors matter.  As I grew stronger, more familiar with the playbook, and learned what it was like to play in college, I gradually improved and with that, I rose up the depth chart.  It took most of my freshman year for the light to come on.  Had the coach thrown me into the starting lineup day 1, I would have probably failed.    And that was college.  So I agree with you based on my experience on a much lower level.  Frankly, I think that is why so many kids drafted to fill huge gaps bust.  The teams are desperate.  Anyone who looks to fill vacancies in the starting lineup through the draft is desperate.  You draft depth to develop.  For this reason, I say, "Let Walker start for a while."  Maybe Brazzell can be our WR 4.  Throw Hunter into a rotation and ask him to do one or two things.  Freeling needs some strength and he needs to work on run blocking.
