Christian McCaffery is going to be someone special in this league. He proved he still has that same quickness he showed in college, and the ability to run between the tackles with his excellent vision and patience.

In the following link, a detailed analysis is presented. I highly recommend everyone view:

Breaks down every play, the situation, and lots of other variables in great detail.

I just hope he doesn't get beat up out there. Ole buddy look tiny among those grown men. He still hasn't learned how to block properly. Keeps putting his head down. Overall he is a great change of pace scatback

The kid averaged more than 4 yards per carry and runs his way between the tackles his own way. His running style lets him get the hard yards like any other power RB.

He is NOT a scatback. He is an NFL runningback. Those of you who assume he can't take that fulltime role just show how much you've actually watched McCaffrey.

A scat back is not a downgrade. Scatbacks are known to be quick and elusive. Cmc does not have break away NFL speed. Cmc does not rely on power to break tackles. Cmc is horrible at blocking LBers that are blitzing. Cmc is great at catching passes out of the backfield and runs routes better than all of our WRs.  He is not a full time RB. The dude is tiny as fug bro. Even at Stanford cmc took a game off because he said he was extra sore from the previous game. Not an injury but sore from getting beat up by bigger men. You can lust all you want just come back to reality for a second.

"Doesn't have NFL breakaway speed"

Uh, what?

Anyways, counter every point made here then. I watched every bit of film from his 2016 campaign available on draftbreakdowns. There is no doubt in my mind McCaffrey will take on a full time job just fine:

Warwick Dunn and Curtis Martin weren't big guys either but they both had long successful careers as NFL RB's. CMC can run between the tackles with the best of them.  His best run the other night was right over LG.

To those questioning his height...

IIRC,

Barry Sanders 5'8

Emmitt Smith 5'9

Walter Payton 5'10

CMC.  5'11

No one is questioning his height lol. Even our very own Jonathan Stewart is listed as an inch shorter at 5'10, but he's got 20+ pounds on McCaffrey.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
