Funchess' "speed" is useless if he continues to struggle to separate from receivers

Now we know why Funchess has struggled to transition to the NFL. He's been focusing on trying to separate from receivers rather than DBs. Someone get this info to the Panthers ASAP!

IN short this is Devin's last year to cement having a long term future in Carolina.

100% agreed with this. Fortunately, I think we're already hedging our bets a little on Funchess ultimately not working out by drafting another receiver in the 2nd round this year, having CMC putting in some work as a WR, as well as signing Shepherd to a decent FA offer.

Not adding to the funchess talk because I knew regardless of how good or bad he looks in practice NO ONE was going to be brought in to challenge him because they want to get a good long look at him this year. And essentially if you bring in a guy to take snaps away from him you go into his contract summer still not knowing what Funchess is.

But that Terrelle Pryor contract the Redskins got him on doesn't look bad. Pryor looks like he has more upside albeit at 28 to Funchess's 23 but at the same token Pryor has been a wr's for far less years then Devin. IN short this is Devin's last year to cement having a long term future in Carolina.

You know they did draft this guy from Ohio State in the second round this year....

I'm talking about someone who would come in and completely take funchess's role. I think Samuel can play on the outside but isn't his initial role to play the slot with some looks on the outside?

They'll have him doing everything and going everywhere. He will likely be our #2 WR target after KB. Fourth after Olsen, KB, and CMC.

That number is nothing but a judgement call  though. Who determines what is a catchable ball and what is not and/or the degree of difficulty of the catch anyway?

I believe that there may be a tad to what you're saying about subjectivity in regards to what's catchable, but there's really little difference (though a difference) statistically regarding organizations that determine this stuff. I think what should be focused on more is the apparent lack of chemistry between Funchess and Cam. That's a two-people problem, unlike what some will tell you here. Cam and Funchess need to get on the same page. Once Cam makes up his mind and consistently goes through his reads and recognizes the open receiver, I think the whole receiving corps, especially Funchess, will be better off for it.

I love our resident Huddle medical experts.

Year in year out they come out the woodwork.

lol at that other post where RR said we don't wanna let him go 0-50 with Samuel , when they let cam throw too much to soon and set his recovery back. If you don't think the medical staff may have made some bad decisions during all this ...........
