It's like the only announcing advice he was given was to be as much like Pat Summerall in Madden '99 as possible (you could play an 8-minute quarter game and hear about 6 seconds of audio, such as "Didn't get much" or "touchdown.")

It could just be that he hates doing TV and prefers radio. I don't recall Mixon being this bad like 5-10 years ago but maybe I was the drunk one then

 lol sadly no, the radio broadcast are equally as bad if not worse because there are more of them

 

For example, whenever there is a positive Panthers play, Mixon takes like 5 seconds to react. The only way you can tell what is going on in real time is to listen to the crowd.

Mixon is by far the worst game commentator on the planet.  Whoever thought it was a good idea to put him in there should be horse whipped repeatedly until that idiot is run out of town.

I didn't understand it when they hired him.  Of the big four college broadcast teams in NC, UNC's was the worst imo.
