How many bottles of cough syrup does Mixon drink before going on air?

Minimum like four. Every play, the guy speaks four or less words at a time and generally is as excited to be calling the game as I would be to watch The Virgins on repeat.

"Garrett Gilbert (LONG PAUSE) Mose Frasier. (LONG PAUSE) First down."

(MIKE RUCKER TALKS FOR 45 SECONDS, NEXT PLAY ENDS)

"Cameron Artis-Payne (LONG PAUSE) Got about one (LONG PAUSE)"

Just now, Cary Kollins said:

Here was his call when Benjamin made that spectacular touchdown catch against the Texans:

"Anderson going deep for Benjamin (6 SECOND PAUSE). He brings it down.(10 SECOND PAUSE) Panthers touchdown. And there was much rejoicing. Yay."

He's the worst.

It could just be that he hates doing TV and prefers radio. I don't recall Mixon being this bad like 5-10 years ago but maybe I was the drunk one then

lol sadly no, the radio broadcast are equally as bad if not worse because there are more of them

For example, whenever there is a positive Panthers play, Mixon takes like 5 seconds to react. The only way you can tell what is going on in real time is to listen to the crowd.

Mixon is by far the worst game commentator on the planet.  Whoever thought it was a good idea to put him in there should be horse whipped repeatedly until that idiot is run out of town.

I didn't understand it when they hired him.  Of the big four college broadcast teams in NC, UNC's was the worst imo.

    • Canales won’t want Luke under him because as soon as we start underperforming, the calls for Luke to takeover as HC will be deafening
    • Just hire McDermott, Ron Rivera and Luke Kuechly to run the defense together
    • Rico Dowdle   CARRunning Back#5 ESPN’s David Newton believes that unless Rico Dowdle “wants to return at a bargain price, he appears headed to his third team in three seasons.” Dowdle was notably down on how little he was used in the regular season finale and in the playoffs, where he rushed a combined 12 times for 19 yards, and said that would be a “factor” in his free agency. Dowdle’s fantasy stock could take a big upturn if he wound up being the obvious lead back on a new team this offseason. The Chiefs, Saints and Texans come to mind as (our speculation) possibilities. Chuba Hubbard’s stock would similarly rebound if Dowdle took off to greener pastures.
