Here to eat crow, and vent

First of all, is it sad that I don't have any real life friends that are as passionate about the Panthers as I am. They're all very casual at best and think that the last few days are not important. Either I care too much, or they don't care enough. Either way, it's concerning.

First to eat my crow. I was relatively happy when Gettleman was fired (What a F*tard I was for that). His decisions were rarely popular but he had the team's future in mind at all times. It's apparent to me and many of you that Marty is back for no reason than to pigeon hole us for years to come. Perhaps I'm being dramatic. Time will most certainly tell.

I started this offseason with high hopes. Super Bowl... we would be back for sure I thought. Now, I'm not sure we will even win our damned division! ATL will still be nice, TB (watch the fig out for TB this year) they swept us last year, and have improved considerably with Jackson, TJ Ward, and a few other nice cogs. Saints will Saint. Not too worried about them... oh no that's right, they have Drew Brees and we don't have a MFin secondary outside of Bradberry and Coleman. I will hold my breathe everytime they make a tackle.......

Our front is our only saving grace. Lord help us all if even one of our starting LBers go down.

It seems to me that our only hope is for Cam to return to MVP form or better, our o-line to stay 100% healthy, and our backs and WRs to play lights out of we're to have any semblance of a chance at the playoffs.

I'm not here for doom and gloom guys, I'm really not..... but it's not looking good in our secondary, and ESPECIALLY in this division where we play 3 phenomenal QBs with dangerous weapons on the outside it's scary.

Heres to hoping im wrong or that we can outscore every opponent with ease!

Dont even get me started on losing Armah. What in the actual fug? Bring Young back and cut a Fing kicker for the love of God before it's too late

I agree about us being fu**ed and all now that we lost one of the best GMs in football and Marty fu**ing Hurney is running the show....but when did Jameis Winston become phenomenal????

Lol another "I can't believe they cut Armah" thread

If the coaches wanted Armah he'd be here, Hurney didn't just come and take away the last FB on the roster to f*ck over the coaching staff.

Gettleman assembled the secondary. We had a better chance to add a safety with Hurney than we ever did with the guy who SIGNED MIKE ADAMS.

Just now, The Lobo said:

Is that sarcasm? If it is, yes, I feel like our D is better than last year. Maybe I'm just ignorant, but I still think we will be tough this season.

No it was questioning the OP..  Our defense is way better than last year just based on leadership, experience and depth of the front 7..

Relax my man.  The NFL is a crap shoot.  Even in the disaster that was last season we were 4 or 5 plays away from a winning record.  All this preseason crap is fun to talk about, but until the team suits up in San Fran no one has any idea what to expect.  Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot or a liar.  Or maybe both.

    • Just chasing targets is a fools game. Chase averaged 85 yrds and .76 TDs per game his first year and 87.16 yrds, and .75 TD's per game his second year. Statistically the same. NOT an improvement. Puka saw no increase either. Yes, Waddle's went down because he had to share targets with another receiver - just like TMac will have to share targets with Coker next year so you have actually just made my point concerning Coker. Olave saw an increase in targets but Carr replaced Dalton and even with the increase in targets, his production was pretty flat (83 extra yards and 1 more TD for the entire year). And Wilson's number did increase but the Jets replaced the other two receivers and their contribution was significantly down from Davis's and Moore's. Again, nothing in those numbers should lead anyone to believe there will be a big leap for Tmac next year.
    • See my previous post. You're also leaving out that T-Mac was likely hitting a rookie wall, like 95% of rookies do late in their first season, combined with the added attention on him by defenses, which in turn would be why Bryce looked Coker's way down the stretch.  With Coker playing like that to start next year, defenses will have to pay attention to it, which will then also make things easier for T-Mac. All of which is also ignoring that T-Mac will just be a better player next year than he was this year, assuming he works on his game this offseason, which we all know he will be.  If a player who was already your clear cut #1 comes back even better his next season, you're going to make sure you're throwing it his way more often, no matter who else you have. Again, Coker's added targets won't be at the expense of T-Mac's, they will BOTH be taking targets from the rest of the team.  Not to mention, we should be passing it more next year to begin with, seeing as we'll have both of them hopefully ready to go full speed Week 1, which again, will help both their target totals increase. Coker looks like a really good player, but even the most optimistic person can't say he looks like he has #1 potential, he has very solid to maybe even high end #2 potential.  You're not taking targets away from the reigning OROY who looks like a true Top 15 WR already to get your #2 targets, you increase both of them by taking from the others.
    • Need to crush the hawks tonight. A lose would really damage momentum
