Cutting Webb did not go over well in the locker room, per Joe Person

I know it's Joe Person reporting and therefore possibly pregnant with stupidity but Webb was a popular guy. Not a good reason alone to keep him but I'm sure everyone saw DA stinking it up. Bad vibes.

Will players care that a previously-fired GM keeping two kickers (he's done it before) cost a popular, effective role player his spot?

I am hearing there is no discord in the locker-room, whatsoever and that only 2 or 3 reporters should be trusted or spoken to.

Joe Person is not on that list and in fact is on a list with Rosinski.

Rosinski was on this player's shlt list years ago and nothing has changed.

Please note...never end a sentence in a preposition.

He's not Webb. There is a reason we kept Webb. It feels like Hurney is just trying to copy DG.

We kept Webb for his versatility as a special teamer, QB and WR. The fact is his only true usefulness was as a special teamer. I suggested weeks ago that with the addition of new special teams aces, and his inability to unseat even a bad Anderson, he was headed for the chopping block.

What does any of that have to do with whether Webb was a good QB or not though? Gentleman might have actually made this same move if he was still here. That QB room needed to get younger.

So if the QB room needs to get younger then why not cut Anderson who is the oldest in the room and performed the worst this Preseason. I mean if we were rolling with Cam, Gilbert, and Kaaya then that would work for the get younger argument. I don't think we need the "vet" of Anderson anymore since his play has declined and this is Cam's 7th season so he has enough experience and leadership to help develop the younger guys as well. If we were concerned about keeping a backup that knows the system then they could have made Gilbert the 2nd since he was in the system this whole preseason.

3 QBS 2 Kickers. It's really stupid we let go players of value for this. From a player's perspective, you either trust your kicker or you don't. If you don't, then he should have been release in March. This is like threatening your wife with divorce and showing her your next woman if she slips up one more time.

Exactly what players of value did the Panthers let go that were going to actually contribute to the Panthers?

Joe Webb, either of the Fullbacks. Depth on the Oline. Don't be daft. You cannot argue a backup kicker and developmental QB will help this team more than anything I've mentioned.

You mean the fullback people were freaking out about that is now on the practice squad because no one in the NFL picked him up off waivers? If they wanted him on the main roster, he would be. It is highly doubtful the Panthers will waste another spot for the o-line until someone is injured.  The kicker situation will be addressed in the next few weeks. Again, people screaming like it is the end of the world because of the 53rd roster spot are just hilarious.

Because Cam still isn't fully healthy and Ron still believes a veteran who has been with the team for many years will be able to fill in better than a QB that has no NFL experience. My guess is this is the last season for DA and he was saved by Cam's injury for one year only.

    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
    • I always thought of him as an uptight military family dude, didn't know he needs to wash that mouth out with soap lol.
