Cutting Webb did not go over well in the locker room, per Joe Person

I mean I'd hope he didn't think he sucks

I like him too. Everyone on here will feel dumb when he lights it up in the preseason and takes Anderson's job. All this said, Webb was one of my five favorite Panthers so that hurt to see him go

Hurney is a glorified radio announcer. Masqurading as a GM.

He wouldn't know a football if it hit him squarely in the face.

Hurney is causing dead money left and right. This poo would never have flied under DG.

You forgot the most important thing though. Gilbert exclusively played VS. 3's and 4's. Than we get rid of Webb and him and sign a no name to our roster to take up a spot.

Who is defending Hurney?  I certainly never have.  I was one of the few who lambasted the "double trouble" monies.  I don't get emotionally attached to players when the NFL is a business.  Loved Gman, dread the next couple of years.

But, this thread was about hurt feelings and J (the truth) Person and his take on the Panthers locker room

Oh STFU.

Norman played chicken with Dave. He lost. Not to mention he announced to hold out and demanded QB money on live TV. You don't pull that poo when you're 29 and a DB in a franchise that prominently values the front seven over the secondary.

Spin it any way you want it but Josh fired his agent.

nobody even really knows for sure that josh knew how negotiations were going.  his agent was reportedly just some dude from back home who hadn't even done an NFL contract before.

I disagree. Brad Kaaya was never a no-name (at least for people in football circles). He may have more upside as a QB than Webb and Gilbert together, but definitely apart.

What I don't understand is the double standard when Gettleman cut popular players it was "BUP BUP BUP"

but when Hurney cuts popular players everyone shits their pants. I wish Webb were still here but 1) Kaaya is gonna be a great Cam backup and 2) it's time to get over all this. There's more bitching over signing a third-string QB than there was when Gettleman spent the GDP of Trinidad and Tobago on glorified Bar Charlotte bouncer Matt Kalil

Cam Newton is the best thing to happen to this team. Could also argue Steve Smith.

Cam sucked last year. I'm hoping this surgery got him back in form. But it's only one person.

52 other people contribute and our GM is holding two spots up with kickers and 4 string QB's.

Anybody got a melon baller?

He's not Webb. There is a reason we kept Webb. It feels like Hurney is just trying to copy DG.

    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
    • I always thought of him as an uptight military family dude, didn't know he needs to wash that mouth out with soap lol.
