Hey guys, so I’m flying in this Saturday to watch my first ever Panthers game. I grew up loving the Panthers because of Julius Peppers and I couldn’t miss his first game back on Charlotte. Just wondering if you guys had any recommendations to make the most of my time in Charlotte. I’m flying in Saturday afternoon and leaving Monday evening. I already have the basics down like making a visit to Bojangles and visiting the stadium on Saturday or Monday so I can get some good pictures. Is there anything else I should do?

Stay downtown Saturday and Sunday.  Plenty to do/see.  Enjoy.  Monday, visit the Billy Graham Library before your flight.  It's close to the airport and closes at 5.  You'd need 1-2 hours to see/enjoy so try showing up at 3 or 4.  It's nice, peaceful and FREE.  My recommendation.

Welcome!

Depending on what time your flight arrives and depending on what kind of day you're trying to have Saturday- I'll be out doing this:

otherwise- hit up some of the local breweries...Enjoy yourself...go Panthers

There's that party district down there(I'm not from CTL so I can't remember what it's called Epicenter or something). NASCAR museum, killer southern BBQ.... I'll just hush and let the CTL's talk.

Gonna definitely have to check out some BBQ spots. Anyone have some recommendations?

Hows the tailgate scene?

Ahh yes the epicenter. Destroyer of Charlotte night life.  Or maybe I just got old.

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
