Statistical Snapshot - Panthers at Lions

Here is a statistical snapshot for the Carolina Panthers at Detroit Lions game.

Biggest thing that stood out to me here was the points for and against.

Detroit ranks in the top 10 in both. Panthers and Lions are actually tied for 4th on defense. This could be a sub 20 point game for both teams.

This one is going to be tough. The Lions are playing opportunistic football, creating turnovers and more importantly, they have an offense that can make those turnovers become points.

Luckily, we have the best checkdown receiver Cam's ever had, which should help keep the INTs down. Stafford's got decent receivers and a good arm, though, so our secondary will be in for a very long day unless our D-line puts on their best show so far.

I'm calling it 20 -24 Panthers with a late touchdown pass in the fourth to take the lead. Defense will have to hold the fort against Detroit's two-minute drill and we'll come away glad we brought Peppers back.

    • What people fail to understand is Lance had a college career that lasted about as long as teenage boys first intercourse.  To say he was raw was an understatement.  So much so that even a QB whisperer had a difficult time molding him into a polished NFL product on top of multiple nagging injuries.  The dud is in his mid-twenties, finally healthy and little miles on the tread.  Low risk, high reward.  If he's available, it would be stupid not to kick the tires.  It took Darnold and Mayfield to hit their 3rd or 4th team for things to finally click.  This is Lance's 3rd stop, I believe.  It's either time for it to click for him or be relegated to a full time backup. Roll the dice....
    • Wrong.  At least we put a QB sneak in the play book and and add plays over 20 yards.
    • I don’t know if people realize that Evan’s was one of the top TE prospects in college  before having some horrible injuries. I wanna say he had two major injuries in back to back seasons which limited his play and dropped his draft stock.
