Matt Kalil's abhorrent run blocking.

I'm just not sure what's happened to our run blocking...  This season has been pretty bad between folks stacking the box or simply getting out played.

This is not where we need to be as a team.  Hopefully this lights some fires, or gets people fired (if it lasts until December...).  We can't win this way.

I legitimately can't recall a worse display of run blocking. Turner was absolutely handled by Cox as well, something else I can't recall seeing before.

Don’t know what the deal was on that....

TNF? Just guys not having gas in the tank?  Cox is good.....but Turner was tossed around all night like a punk.   That ain’t normal.

It is overly complicated for the sake of complication. Honestly, if the team would just try an i formation with a fullback and a helmet on a helmet straight up , they likely would be having more success. At the very least they would wear down the defense. Right now they are doing neither.

Our traditional run blocking has been a joke for years.  Cam has covered up that fact by making our rush numbers look decent.  If the run game doesn’t come off Cam....it just hasn’t been there for consistently for years now

The Eagles succeeded where other teams really hadn't so far ... they shut down the running game and forced Cam to throw it. I'm not sure if I have ever seen a game in nearly 40 years where the rushing attack was this lifeless. Our blocking was horrible and I can't count the number of times I saw linemen tag their man quickly and then head out to get a block on a linebacker or safety -- it was like a complete surrender of the first level in an attempt to get to the second level of the defense. It just made no sense at all.

Stewart never ran with any of his usual force, Fozzy got injured, we've apparently given up on CMC as a running back and there was even a pointless CAP sighting. Dang, I can't even fathom how badly the Eagles front seven manhandled us.

Same thing happened last year when Ryan Kalil went out.  On top of him just being a great physical center, he also was able to call blocking adjustments at the line.  Kind of like losing Keuchley's ability to call out what he's seeing to the rest of the defense.

We have Stewart, who is a North/South steamroller taking tosses to the outside, and we have McCaffrey, who's made to break ankles at the second level but can't get past the line of scrimmage. The problem is the same it's been for years; we can't win the battle in the trenches because we still have never addressed the offensive line.

    • Only thing I really see it doing is possibly making Tepper listen if a different play caller can't run the offense because of limitations. New hire, someone who hasn't been watching Bryce for the past 3 years up close may be able to talk some sense if he sees that he isn't able to get the job done.

    • Not sure there is anything that will do that outside of Young actually being a legit top 12 QB. Where he won’t need excuses made for him.  It is just as likely to multiply them.
