On paper this looks like a bad move. But I will never forget how frustrating KB was with inconsistent effort and could easily disappear for an entire game. Not to mention that he was soft, and did fug all in run blocking.  For a big guy he didn't know how to use his body and only ran two routes. I am glad we're trying to give others a chance, especially Funchess who works hard and Shepherd who can be serviceable. I am also excited to see Samuel get more targets.  It may not work but you can't tell me this offense was clicking or that you were willing to sign KB to a second contract.  My only wish is that we would have gotten more in return.

It is so funny to hear the national media pundits and other fan bases act like KB is some star receiver. They have clearly only seen the highlights and don't realize just how limited he really was on the field.

Lol at “soft” and “doesn’t know how to use his body” then says he’s glad we’re given Funchess a chance who “works hard”.

Cant make this stuff up.

Did you see Funchess in some of those gif’s Jeremy posted from Chicago?

Oh and FYI Funchess has more targets than KB this year. He’s had plenty of chances

If by addition you mean the additional years of Star and Norwell we get by making this trade then I'm onboard with you. Kelvin had a salary of $8.5 mil next with on his 5th year option.

This is the only silver lining I can find...  But with this front office, I can see us not resigning Star and Norwell for god knows what reason

What he said... I think KB was crippling this offense more than helping.

KB was playing smaller than he was. If he used his body or ran routes better he would be unguarded. I think it's fair to criticize the move without bringing in someone else, but to act like KB was world class is ludicrous.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
