Cam Newton is the lowest rated QB in the 4th quarter this season

I think this is deceptive.

With no home run deep threat, that's hampered the offense late in games, and that's not going to leave you with a pleasant passer rating. Not to mention Newton is getting gassed toward the 4th because he's leading the team in rushing just about every week.

If he was number #1 best Q4 QBs I’d bet my left nut you wouldn’t be calling it so deceptive.

Can has blame too the amount of excuses you come up with for him all the time doesn’t make sense. Or does it?

Well if he was #1 then that would mean we wouldn't be witnessing the affecting factors I mentioned. Because historically when the offense as a whole steps up, and not just Cam Newton, we win 9 times out of 10.

The level of bitterness you have taken this anti-Newton shtick to isn't even amusing anymore. It hasn't been for several years. It's beyond time to sh*t or get off the pot.

Serious question: do you perceive Newton to have any flaws? If so, what are they? Or is he flawless in your opinion?

Absolutely. His tendency to be spotty in his accuracy can be maddening. His footwork isn't exactly ideal at times either.

Of course the reality is this staff and franchise hasn't been able to maximize his talents instead of relying on them.

For however you might feel about Newton, there is no arguing that we desperately need someone on our offense not named Cam to step up if we want to win a Lombardi trophy.

Hey now, watch out.  How is it possible to appreciate and honestly critique your QB without being labeled a Cam lover?  Not sure why Cam-haters don't realize how easily detectable the hate is versus objective criticism.   I'd rather for Cam to be the worst rated QB in the league and team 12-4....that means we're doing what the team was built for - strong D and powerful running game.   Seems the front office is moving away from power runners and moving towards a NE style dink and dunk with all purpose shifty athletes.  If so, just stick with the game plan, adjust accordingly but don't get deer in head light and waffle then expect Cam to pull out a miracle.

Honestly, the team is changing identity on offense and not sure if the game plan is solid enough to depend on just yet.  Cam can be inaccurate at times and the dink and dunk is perfect for that and substitute for flaws in the running game but no QB throws a better down field crossing pattern bullet.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
