i work for a big data company and deal with data scientists every day. i know exactly what AI is being developed...and it has a long long way to go.

they can’t even make a recommendation engine that works well, forget about trying to make a moral decision. giving a computer instructions is easy, teaching it to make decisions on right and wrong is very very hard.

Understand but you cannot possibly know every AI that is being developed out there. That stuff is top secret.

They still haven't developed a way to power them for more than a few minutes without them being tethered to a bulky power source. Once they do that, it's time to panic.

this is the robot that said she would kill all humans.  Even when "fixed" the answer is well....not comforting. 

I mean, frankly what is the end goal for AI.  I mean if you take AI as far as you can (which is human nature)....you essentially would great something that would view itself as superior to humans.
