Its a wake up call for many of us.  I dont think we need to blow poo up tho, we have a good core and with a good offseason can be a Superbowl contender.  This year we are just not on the same level as teams like the Saints/Eagles/Rams/Patriots.  I do think we need to blow up the coaching staff.

The eagles looked like trash yesterday against a Shermanless and otherwise beat up Hawks team.

The Patriots have found their groove as of late, but they started the season 1-2 and looked like absolute garbage as well

Right now we're not playing our best ball, but we'll figure it the fug out. We have 4 games left before the playoffs. I'd much rather struggle right now then to struggle in Jan when poo counts the most.

as i've stated before, the Giants won both superbowls as wild card teams. The key: they got hot at just the right time, snuck into the playoffs, and manhandled each and every opponent on the road in route to the lombardi.

if anyone says we need to blow up the coaching staff right now when we're sitting pretty for a playoff birth, I have no words to say to you other than, GTFO and become a browns, bucs, or niners fan. They'll show you what a real football team looks like

Sounds more like you believers are trying to convince yourselves that everything is hunky dory more so than those of us that have seen this movie before.  At least the evidence would suggest that the torch bearers aren't the ones starting all the threads trying to convince otherwise.  Just saying.

I was discouraged by the sloppy, undisciplined play in a game where we should have been focused... not by the loss itself.

Don't think we need to blow it up, but when you see a team perform that poorly in a big moment it's fair to question everything including coaching.

Rivera poured salt in the wound today by stepping to the podium and making excuses for Matt Kalil. Coach Rivera should take a page out of Steve Wilks book and say: "we didn't play well and as head coach that's my fault".

Do you recall Rivera ever, at any point, putting blame on himself?

It's always the players.

KC has lost 6 of 7, and have been in an absolute freefall after starting 6-1 and being the early favorites for the superbowl, yet their entire coaching staff is still in tact b/c their coaching staff and personnel decisions are made by some sane logical businessman, not some emotional little crybabies who want to blow everything up after a measly loss to a worthy opponent.

Glad Jerry Richardson isn't influenced and manipulated by our fanbase, otherwise our team would like like the utter garbage that is the majority of the NFL (aside from 6 teams).

You do remember that KC fired John Dorsey this offseason, right?

And this after they finished 12-4 last year.

and we fired DG after an abysmal 6-10 season where he let go of a franchise CB and decided to start two rooks and failed to address the RT position whoarguably single handedly lost us the SB.

so what's your point?

Have to really think... maybe once or twice but not nearly enough with yesterday being a prime "missed opportunity". Bottom line, the head coach is responsible for the performance of the team so you might as well own the blame even if you don't believe it's your fault.

    • Either way there's some tough teams on the schedule this year, on paper anyways.
    • Same. I would prefer a MNF game earlier in the season. As if more likely has some significance in case things go south this season. If we perform well enough we could even get another game forced to a Sunday night spot later in the season.
    • Wanted to jump into this thread. Although I do not post anymore I do look in as there are a few old friends around. Loved hearing some of the names you mentioned.  Another  oldie is NanceUSMC.  He is the one who got me here from the old Observer forum.  Good guy and smart football guy. I have learned a lot from a lot of good Huddlers over the years, Over time. we have sadly lost a few who left this earth too soon.  Anyone who know of someone, it would be nice to try to make a list.  One of the more recent, CosmoGirl,  was someone that kind of hit hard.  Life sucks sometimes. Some of the best times were when we had our own tailgate and could meet up in person.  I think it made us better. Several dedicated volunteers, lead by LiverMush, started setting things up in the wee hours of each gameday morning.  Don't know all those regulars but I remember JakeFlake was one.  For you newbies...each game,  a Huddler (or a group) sponsored the food for each tailgate.  Eating was free but a donation was asked for.  At the end of the year those donations were used to buy bicycles for Toys for Tots.  Over the years Huddlers bought a lot of new bikes for kids for Christmas.  (I am guessing a couple of hundred each year.)  We had a good time getting together, got to make friends in person, and then got to feel like you were doing something good. It was truly a community. I got to meet Dan Morgan at one of our tailgates...he brought pizza from his restaurant.  How many of you remember that?  Glad the restaurant did not make it....lol. Not only have people changed, and come and gone.....but the entire nature and purpose has changed. Nothing lasts forever and we move on but we still like to think about good times. Same reason we take pictures. Want to ask a question I have not seen anyone else mention......who remembers    "The Couch" ?  We have argued, laughed, lived the ups and downs of football and dealt with a little real life along the way.  A thanks to  the Mods who keep this going.  I am sure they sacrifice a lot of their time out of love for the forum and the Panthers. Take care my friends and be well.  I will close with my new favorite quote which I think is greatly needed in these difficult times.
