Rivera is one hell of a HC. What we need is an owner who cares to win a SB, a better GM not named Hurney and a genius at OC.

If we are dumb enough to let Rivera go, he wont be on the market for long.

Rivera & Coaches do a great job of scouting Hurney is great GM tha that can get Coaching staff the type of players they need for the system.

He has won as much as John Fox except Fox has two SB appearances.

This team wins because of TALENT. Not Ron Riveras incompetent ass.

You can say that about any team with talent, I don't recall anyone saying Sean Payton was a good coach the last 3 years N.O. missed the playoffs. Plus the Panthers have been winning games this year off making defensive plays this isn't the same team that scored at will 2 years ago.

What? Lol....Sean Payton has easily  been the greatest thing to ever happen to that franchise outside of brees in their team history  and he brought them a championship to top it off. So what if they had to take a couple steps back a few years? Not even a payton fan but his boldness is big reason why they have a ring in the first place. Rivera conservative ass holds this team back. Thats just facts.

It's probably the opposite, really. If a new owner that isn't familiar with football FO operations come in, why would he make any immediate changes to a playoff team?

Rivera is staying no matter what, with his staff in tow, and Hurney will stay due to the GM's unfamiliarity with the team.

A new owner is going to want to put his own stamp on the Panthers.  That means he will likely bring in a new GM (which works out well with Hurney's contract up in June).  That new GM will likely want to also make their own mark on the team.  But with the sale likely taking place long after the coach hiring season is over, and Rivera having one more year on his contract, any changes to the coaching staff will be after the 2018 season.  That gives RR one season to earn the job in the new GM's eyes.

Rivera is nowhere near being on the hot seat, but new ownership could possibly necessitate a change due to possible differing philosophies, not clicking with the new regime, the owner and GM not comfortable with how inconsistent this team has been under Rivera, etc.  Any owner or GM that comes in is going to want their guys.  So Rivera will have a year long job interview to determine if he can be their guy.  But, most likely, we'll see a complete overhaul.  Do not expect guys to be kept around for sentimentality reasons.
