A group of investors committed to keeping the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte is “moving pretty fast” to purchase the team from owner Jerry Richardson, the Observer has learned.

The group, which includes both local and out-of-town members, is made up of “some very serious people, some very wealthy people who are very committed to Charlotte,” said Charlotte businessman Felix Sabates, a longtime fixture in the city’s professional sports scene.

“They’re moving pretty fast.”

Did you know the Titans have been for sale for 2 years? No serious interest according to Forbes.

This speculates the market will be flooded in coming years.

This could take a while.....possibly. if it's not a group already associated.

the problem for the teams on that list, with the exception of the saints, is they suck...i'm willing to put money on the asking price being waaay to high for any serious investor. if you can't sell out your stadium on game day, there's no way in hell someone's going to shell out the money to buy the whole enchilada.

I don't think a teams value is tied to the recent years record but the market.

The Broncos have history of success and a rabid fan base

This has a slight negativity involved though if and when a new owner takes the reigns which I hope never happens.

"The team is under a lease to play at Bank of America Stadium through next season. While most analysts say that the next owners will try to move the Panthers to another city, Center City Partners President/CEO Michael Smith said Wednesday that nothing is guaranteed."
