Christian Kirk Declares for 2018 Draft

Don’t know much about him, but I’m very hesitant on adding more youngins to that receiving group; especially if it’s going to take that receiver awhile to actually make some noise. I’d rather go with a proven vet, tbh.

If we do bring a young receiver in, the receiver needs to be an exceptional route runner, has speed, catches with their hands, and they need to have shown they’re able to high point the ball and make the tough catches. If they haven’t shown any of this, then pass.

If we're going to even think about a WR in the first, it needs to be Calvin ridley. And I don't think he'll last to us. So find one in FA

Ridley and Kirk are the only WRs really worth a 1st rounder in this draft

Ridley will be the first WR off the board

Kirk would be there for us and a solid choice.

Only 2 guys I'd take over him that possibly could possibly be there for our pick

Joshua Jackson (doubtful though) and Ronnie Harrison.

After that Kirk

We need to trade up for Ridley. Enough is enough.

Bears are as much of a favorite to get Ridley this year as the Jags were to get Fournette next year. They're picking at 8 while we may be picking at 28, thats impossible .

OBJ AB and Smitty are one in a million players. They arent the norm for small WRs

Tyreke Hill, Doug Baldwin, Cooks, Ty Hilton, Golden Tate, Diggs, Desean Jackson (younger Desean), Rishard Matthews, Landry, etc

There are plenty of good smaller WRs.  If they can run good routes and have good hands, they can play.  Kirk has those

They could go OT as well, they arent very good at that position too.  So protecting the guy they just invested alot in is just as important.  Have seen quite a few people mocking OT there recently.  So wouldnt go as far as lock as Fournette to Jax

Kirk is no where near the guys you just mentioned.

I'm not that impressed by Ridley and I definitely think Kirk has much more big play potential. Kirk gets to the endzone. If Kirk run a 4.3 in any 40 and get at-least a 38 vert there's no question he's going number 1

I’m guessing you’ve never watch Calvin Ridley run his routes. Kirk is no where near Ridley either.

Youtube videos are cool but most of these guys have solid highlight reels.

That's cool

The numbers are what they are and they're very similar, but the difference is touchdowns. Not only does Kirk get to the end-zone on receiving, but he's a dangerous return man. We talking 33 TD's total to 19 TD's in 3 years

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
