Yes. And then someone said that there was some scrub that JR wanted released and Gettleman didn’t do it and that’s why he was fired. This seems like it might be the guy.

Practice squad players are always on the fringe talent-wise.  They're cut and re-signed on a regular basis for any number of reasons.

So yes, Cam Newton could get away with a lot of things that a practice squad player couldn't. That's just reality. 

It therefore makes sense as a practice squad player to keep a low profile and not do anything that might piss somebody off.

Now with that said, is his treatment - or the similar treatment of others - by Richardson justified?

No.

Jerry Richardson has been shown to be a bad apple. That's the reason why he's not going to be the owner of this team anymore, and his losing the team is very much deserved.

It may not have been the smartest thing for Marcus Ball to do this, but that doesn't make Jerry Richardson's actions okay.

This is it to a T. If Colin Kaepernick was doing his protests while taking the 49ers to the Super Bowl, nothing would have happened to him. But he didn’t start until he was a scrub, and therefore expendable. Marcus Ball does something cut. Julius Peppers stands alone in tunnel...nothing. That’s how it goes.

I wouldn't believe it until you realize JR quit his NFL career over some chump change......losing Gettleman over Ball would be about as Panther a thing that has ever Panthered.

Well if that's "it" then this is a non story/thread anyway. If a practice squad player got a DUI he'll get cut too. IF a practice squad player shot himself in the leg he'll get cut too. IF a SuperBowl MVP hits someone while drunk he'll get suspended....a middling talent would get cut....so what's the news here if that's "it' then? Wack players get cut for poo good players don't get cut for?  breaking news
