On the GM front...

Mr. Scot

This is why, when people hand waved the Hurney hiring in August, I was panicking. He got his foot in the door again.

Ugh.

If we are stuck with Hurney I just truly hope he's learned from his past, this offseason will tell us all we need to know.

Greg Olsen hopes they keep him too.

"Continuity", ya know.

He took the sword for JR when they did all that youth movement crap and then spent on the team's FA's. That was all JR, look at normal Hurney FA and drafts and then look at 2009-2011. Huge difference in drafting and fa.

I don't think he's as bad as 2009-2011 Hurney but I also don't think he's as good as 2002-2005 Hurney either. Probably somewhere in the middle.

I'm giving Hurney a clean slate.  Some of you must think that he's hard-assed, know-it-all Gettleman who is about as flexible as an anvil.  Hurney says he's learned a thing or two by observing from afar, and so far his moves should give you a little hope.

Hurney is more like Derek Anderson.

You might survive having him in for a short time but if he's in there for an extended period, we're screwed.

Well, if you draft well, the answer just may be on the roster. The Packers haven't done that bad drafting from where I'm sitting.  They did bring in Pep as well.

Truth be told, but for A-Rod's injury, they would likely be making a push this season. One thing I  know is that the injury bug has hit them hard for the last few seasons,  but they never fell off the map.

GB has not had a top 10 defense since Rogers has been there.

I really think the new owners will want their own guy. Hurney's relationship with Richardson was the only reason he ever worked in the league again. I think it will depend on how fast the team sales, but if new ownership is approved in March, Hurney won't make it past the draft.

Interesting point. Assuming that the new owner, as well as the GM,  keeps Rivera,  I'm not worried. One thing about football types, they know the "players" and the "game."
