Next Year's Backup Quarterback

Has anyone heard anything about DA getting even a single sniff by another team so far as a free agent?  Given the high priority being given to backup QBs in the league right now, it suggests to me that other teams may think DA doesn't have much left.  At least a really soft market for him increases the chance we could sign him for cheap if we think we need him as insurance for another season.

Josh Johnson would be nice, cheap, and wouldn't miss a beat in our offense. I like Austin Davis too, he has talent, but has never gotten a legit chance, also can be had for cheap

Hurney will wait until after the draft to re-sign Derek Anderson. He will wait to see if he can draft a promising young QB in rounds 5-7.

Tough way to go with the college route... any of the QBs worth an early pick doesn't make sense, but are better than Gilbert. Any QB in rounds 5-7 probably are worse than Gilbert. Unless one slips, but even then, you're raking through the likes of Kurt Benkert & Logan Woodside.  Only ones that could fall would be White, but even he probably goes in the 4th, which would make us have to use a 3rd, so no thanks. 

I agree with the Gilbert mold or wait and see what can be had after all draftees have been signed, players have been cut and we can bring a vet like Matt Moore, Geno Smith, etc. 
 

Let's be real here...... Joe Webb is going to be signed at some point in August and our depth chart will be Cam, Webb, Gilbert

The Jets are going to draft a QB at 3. So either Teddy or McCown will be 3rd string. Either of those 2 would be a huge upgrade over Anderson
