Throw in Eric Reid & I like where your heads at. Personally outside RB I think this is a pretty weak draft. If we let Norwell & Stah walk depending on how FA we sign. Could get 2 extra 3 rounders for them in Next years draft that will be really deep. Just a thought.

Ziggy and Demarcus Lawrence are my #1 targets in FA. I think Detroit & Dallas will franchise them though. Robinson would be nice but probably out of our price range coming off a major injury. I would like any of Fuller, Grimes or Amukamara for CB. Eric Reid is an option at safety and he thinks his market will be limited because of his anthem protests. Maybe he comes cheap.

There might be some interesting names that are cap casualties this year so that’s another option to keep an eye on.

Lawrence absolutely took over several games. He is going to get paid big money. I think you are right on the Franchise. Makes too much sense.

Star stated he wanted to test the market. Charles Johnson did the same thing a couple years ago and stayed.  if Star gets a fair deal elsewhere we can just match it or a little more . If its is too much just let him walk .  Offer Norwell a fair deal or let him go . Use the money elsewhere on areas of need .  No one knows how the draft goes or who takes a major improvement . Go find the next Norwell or Josh Norman .

He stayed because we gave him a franchise crippling deal that he never lived up to.

Your not and CJ probably would have crippled them.

Perhaps he would have. As for the other part,  I sure would have liked to have had Jordan Gross in the Super Bowl...either him or Steve Smith.  It may have made all the difference in the world.

Most of those guys were collecting a check when Newton got here. It's why we underperformed when they were here.

Yeah we sure showed them.

We actually did.. He avg. Double digit sacks and pressure numbers for 4 years after giving the contract and was one of the best run defending DE's in the game for years.. He ease the pain of missing on Everett Brown and losing Pep.. So he actual played well for the deal he got.. Ppl here wanted Mario Williams who got more and wasn't nearly as good as CJ.. He is number 2 on our all time sack list and we have 2 HOF pass rushers with multiple years in a panther uniform in our history.. So yes money was well served on that deal..

    • The right answer is neither and drafting Maye with the #1 Pick of the 2024 Draft lmfao we traded away the #1 in a QB LOADED DRAFT
    • I have no idea why you are so irrationally upset about the notion that going out and spending $150 million free agency dollars on two interior offensive linemen could be construed as a panic response after our #1 pick we traded a fortune for had one of the worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years. It is objectively what transpired. Dan Morgan as of right now is a mixed bag. Some really good some so so some not so good some bad some really bad. You take any rational criticism personally like you are related to him or something. That's something you'll have to figure out for yourself. Anyways. The predicament Dan Morgan finds himself in for this year will define his future as GM. I sincerely hope he navigates it to perfection. But the circumstances are largely of his own creation. And not just in his stint as GM but going back to his time as assistant GM. Which conveniently people like yourself don't like to talk about. That is the reality of the situation. I like how you will carry water for Dan Morgan to the point of getting into random spats with people but make no mention of Bryce Young's glaring limitations and shortcomings as a starting QB yet go out of your way to put the onus of our struggles squarely on Canales. I mean I've been quite critical of Canales too but he sure isn't the only one to blame for our problems.
    • They weren't well thought out. We needed one, not both. 2 top center/guard candidates were going to be available in the 2nd. We would have been fine with JPJ or Frazier. Drafting either over XL or Brooks would have made perfect sense. Hell, drafting both would have made sense even if we had signed Lewis or Hunt. Instead we drafted a 1 year wonder project WR and a luxury RB that we didn't need since we had Hubbard. Draft IOL, pay tackles. Plenty of 2nd round guards and centers start immediately and play very well. Those 2 picks were not good then, now, no matter how much explaining anyone tries to do. Several of called it then.
