Some of that Kalil $ could have gone toward keeping Norwell

You can't just blindly throw out 11-5 while completely overlooking extenuating circumstances.

Our QB almost blew his knee out dragging us to that record with his legs. You're okay with that? Remove that factor from the equation and we're lucky to replicate out 2016 win/loss record.

the 11-5 record and his track record from previous years are quite impressive and the best overall summary for how a GM is performing. There a few franchises that can come close to what we have done since DG became GM. That's kinda of stupid question. No one wants Cam hurt but to throw a hypothetical scenario like removing Cam is pointless. Your right we would suck without Cam. Keep things realistic, Kalil's contract was bad but at the time we took a chance and rolled the dice and lost. Aside from Kalil the line is pretty good. Your putting way too much hate on DG is the point here. He made a bad mistake with that contract but he made alot of good decisions for this franchise and thats why we are in a good position for sustained success

A poop from the big jobless baby is worth a thousand delicious pies...that’s when I know I got in his head ;)

If you're reduced to randomly ranting about the "jobless" in a football discussion, I wouldn't worry about being in anyone's head. I'd worry about not being an awful person.

Matt Kalil's cap hit in 2018 will be 7,000,000  for a left tackle. He doesn't have to be great to justify that. The deal is a 2 year deal worth a little over 10 million in cap hit. In 2019 we have a potential out where his cap hit goes up to 12 million but his dead cap hit is only 7 million. Then the cap goes to 16 million the last two years with minimal dead cap hits of 4 and 2 million. You know the deal was intended to be restructured at that point if he was playing great and dumped if he struggled.

Norwell's first year cap hit will be pretty small since his signing bonus will serve as his salary in year 1 and year 2 usually has a reduced cap hit compared to his average yearly salary. So there is no reason not to sign him to a good deal. The money we save from Davis retiring will pay for Norwell next year. And in 2019 we can dump Kalil and use that money to pay Norwell or keep Kalil on a restructure and convert salary to signing bonus and cut Kalil's cap hit for 2019 and still pay Norwell if we loved them both.

Tldr: there is no reason we should let Norwell go. Matt Kalil isn't the problem.

While we’re dishing out life advice to each other: maybe if you spent your time actually out looking for jobs instead of on here all day every day alternating between your rants about evil Gettleman not resigning Ginn and how our fan base doesn’t deserve Cam Newton, then you might not be jobless...but hey that’s just me.

Is this your idea of real banter? Insulting the job status/skill set of random strangers as an attempted rebuttal?

This is very low grade, even by huddle standards.

Woah hey don’t put words in my mouth ...I never accused you of having a skill set.

I hope you can appreciate the irony of criticizing my “attempted rebuttal” when you opt to just randomly poop a post you don’t agree with instead of even attempting to refute any points.

And hey I’m not the one insinuating “jobless” as an insult. Are you projecting your own thoughts? Shame on you man... (hey I’m starting to get the hang of TheRed’s debating tactics)

So receiving a meaningless poop emoji reaction that doesn't even actually affect your account reputation is what has you in such a tizzy?

Are you 12?

Excuse me are you insulting 12 year olds now? What kind of terrible person would insult a child? You really need to re-evaluate your life to this point if you’re hating on children.

(Everyone please enjoy this accurate enactment of what a debate would be like between two “TheRed”s).
