Just looked at his bio page to confirm the numbers (they sounded hard to believe).

He's only been activated for barely over half the games the Titans have played since drafting him (most of those scratches not due to injury).

And it's true, in the 18 games played (with 1 start) besides the lone sack, he's only managed 12 tackles.

Those would be "nothing special" numbers for an undrafted guy.  For a second round pick, though?  Yeesh.

Wrong system?  Maybe, but I wouldn't trade a 7th round pick in the 2025 draft for that kind of production.

Sounds a lot like a motivation or desire problem to me.   Neither of which can be coached.  Pass.

I found one article indicating he was "scared" by a minor injury he suffered in a preseason game. Wonder if that's the problem.

Maybe NFL players hit a little too hard for him.

I totally agree with this.  Just to expound on this, we traded a 7th rounder and Clay, for Kevon Seymour before the year started.  He had 14 tackles and 3 PD in 1 year at Buffalo and was active for 15 games.  That's more tackles and active in almost as many games as Dodd has had in 2 years with the Titans.

If Hurney sent a 3rd round pick to Tenn for that guy, he should be taken out and shot before he hangs up the phone.

You can't coach heart either.  It's the wrong sport to go into if you are afraid to get hurt.

He’s not worth a 3rd. We traded Ealy for the value of a 4th and the Patriots cut him. Ealy had 3 times the number of sacks in the Super Bowl that Dodd has in 2 years. As bad as Ealy was for us outside of one game, he was so much better than Dodd has been.

If they cut him we should kick the tires but at this point he isn’t worth a 3rd. Sometimes players drafted even in the first are just busts. You pick them up upon release.

no one knows if Dodd is bad or good though. He has no position on that team

We definitely know he's bad. It's uncertain if he could be good at some point, but it's certain he's not good now.

He has to earn a position if he wants to stick around.  Apparently he hasn't seized his opportunity.

I loved Richard when he was here and he made plays for this team . And James Anderson not only led the team in tackles a couple of years.. He was one of our best utility players all time.. Played every LB position and Special teams...
