Hornets May Move Monk

While most of the trade chatter concerning the Bucks has revolved around centers – DeAndre Jordan, Hassan Whiteside, JaVale McGee, etc. – the Bucks have explored obtaining a shooting guard. League sources said the Bucks had contacted the Hornets about rookie Malik Monk, the 11th overall pick in last June’s draft.

There is apparently a split in the Hornets’ hierarchy as to whether they should keep Monk or move him. Monk has struggled for much of the season, averaging a pedestrian 5.2 points on just 33 percent shooting.

And we wonder why this team sucks... moving a player withou giving him a chance is just foolish.

Unfugingbelievable.  I despise Clifford.

We'll trade Monk but give Frank his full fuging rookie contract to "develop."  We'll prolly give Frank a fuging extension knowing this front office, and yet, Monk, the rookie with the most potential we've had since probably Kemba, can't get any burn and we're looking to move him?

fug this team...  they are fuging mindless.

If they move Monk I'm done with this organization until Cho and Jordan are uninvolved. Why in the hell would a rebuilding team trade their first round pick from the past year. Especially when he's got the most offensive upside on the team aside from Kemba.

Ive never seen such a professional organization ran so amateurishly and foolishly like the Charlotte Bobcats. This organization doesn't deserve the name Hornets because the Charlotte Hornets we knew and loved where nothing like this.

No you're not. You're a masochistic like the rest of us. You enjoy the punishment.

Monk & Bacon are the future of the team..
if they can trade Kemba/Batum/Frank away for a up-and-coming PG and a draft pick - then flip Dwight's expiring + Marvin/MKG (or however we can flip them all)...

PG - trade for PG
SG - Monk
SF - Bacon
PF - 1st Rd pick
C - 1st Rd pick

Could you imagine Trae Young in the backcourt with Monk and Bacon? Lawd.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
