It's taking a while because there's a lot of interest.

Sounds like there may be more suitors we haven't heard of yet.

(no, not Jordan)

Was hoping for March before the draft. But May works too.  Gives new ownership time to settle in before training camp.

Post draft is often when scouting staffs get walking papers.

I'd think that's more likely a year from now, though.

Keep seeing David Tepper's name popping up.  He'd have to unload his Steelers stake but he at least has been involved with ownership stake in a team before...beyond that I don't know much about him.  Well, except he is incredibly rich.

Net worth of nearly 12 billion...

The candidates that everyone takes most seriously right now are Tepper and Navarro.

Tepper could make the higher bid but Navarro is native to the Carolinas.

I noticed that...I did a little research on each one.  Given that Navarro lives in SC I'd probably feel a little better with him.

Also:  Navarro is the son of former college coach Frank Navarro, who coached Princeton and Columbia, Navarro has deep ties to the sport but has never been directly involved with owning a team.

    • I agree but he honestly has gotten better about this. Used to be he’d do it like 4-5 times a game, now it’s like 2-3. Overall I’m incredibly happy with his game, his D has been solid and when he is playing his role he’s a solid scorer and one of the few guys who can consistently finish at the rim and provide that threat. Plus he’s electric and LaMelo loves him. Going into the season I was sure he would just be a stop gap here but now I’m reconsidering and could see him continue to be a “core” piece here. Obviously not on the level of the other starters but he is an important cog for this team. We felt his missed presence during his and Moose’s suspensions.
    • Philly will be a bigger challenge than the Knicks were IMO. George and Embiid are back, not sure about Maxey but Embiid alone is a nightmare matchup for us and Moose. We’ve never really done well against him. Celtics added Tatum but honestly not sure they’re all that much better with him right now than they were when we whooped them a few weeks ago. We should be able to at the very least split these 2, hopefully take both.
