People bitching but forget we don't have Shula anymore. Cam went to the SB with a WR worse than Smith and a OC who loves to doodle. We now have a good deep threat and a legendary OC.

Wrong.

Torrey isn't an upgrade to Ginn and we don't have anyone who can catch like JCo could.  That team also had a great secondary.

Comparing this team to our SB team is sad at best and idiotic at worst.

I hear you.  But this is the NFL, not fantasy football.  No one is getting trade-raped.  We got something we needed.  Philly got something they needed.  If Smith stretches the field, gets around 600-700 yards, and 3-4 TDs, I'd call it a success.  We needed the balance.

At the same time, we have about 9 CBs on our roster (including Worley).  We really only need 5.  Maybe we felt we had guys just as good as Worley playing behind him.

Are you kidding?

Teams get trade raped ALL THE TIME.  We pulled off one of the great trade rapes in the history of the NFL just a few years ago.

So, I get this trade.   It's not what we all wanted, those of who wants to upgrade WR, but, it's something and it's better than we had going into last year.   I still wouldn't mind kicking the tires on some of the other FA but may be more than the team wants to spend.    I do hope not we really look into someone like Sherman or someone to come in and play CB, also safety.

It doesn't sound like the Eagles WANTED to lose him or whatnot, just a purely financial decision on a team that has some good WR's to fill spots.

Trading a potentially average CB for what I see as a #2 WR to pair with Funchess. It seems we've just shifted our needs elsewhere. Don't see Smith as the answer at WR that we need, but we desperately need something in the secondary now.

Not excited but will reserve judgement.

How do you know it's better?  Byrd and Samuels are both really fast, but just happened to get hurt.

wouldnt mind it as much if Smith wasnt being paid $5 mil

That's pretty much the going rate, actually maybe less. You have to keep in mind players like Russel Shepard are making over $3 million a year.

I don't mind adding Smith.

But who was the best CB we had at the end of last season? It sure wasn't Bradberry.   Now I am not advocating we should trade Bradberry but.....Worley was the best at the end.  For whatever that is worth.  Takes time to develop DBs.

    • Such a dumb pick and most of us knew it Ladd would’ve been the perfect match with Bryce But instead they draft XL to fill the void at the X spot because we had a 34 year old Adam Thielen. Then a year later we draft a real X WR and move XL inside where he has absolutely no business being for a list of reasons
    • My logic was hopefully a new HC would have a LOT quicker hook for Bryce. But, that is assuming they would even be allowed. I guess that's a call to the owner's box for permission.
    • I’m not overly defending the pick. I was team Stroud by a country mile but I also knew what to expect as far as ceiling goes with Bryce  I had concerns with Bryce’s arm strength and size. Neither seem to overly be an issue. He’s proven to throw with enough anticipation that he makes up for a lack of velocity. I was worried about the way he played in college not translating to the league. Spending 8 seconds behind LOS. I did also think it would take Young a few years for him to reach his full potential. I also think he’s too smart and accurate to flat out bust which all of seems to be pretty accurate Bryce is someone you can absolutely win with. No one thought he’d be the type to carry a well below average supporting cast to a Super Bowl. He’s fully capable of giving you those 4-5 special plays a game that help your team win. And then you have those rare times where he’s the reason you win like in Atlanta.  All good teams have more than just a QB.  Even the teams that are winning this year all have a lot more than what we have. Supporting cast/defense… more than what we have  As far as Morgan goes I 100% agree. Fwiw he was legit team Bryce during the draft process. I know that for a fact. Last years draft is a complete write off. This past draft still up for debate. TMac and Scourton look solid. I can’t remember the last time I saw Princely win a rep and I’m being honest. Ransom has a little value. I think ETN is a nice insurance add. Evans could be a TE2.    I think this offseason Morgan will get aggressive with trying to land a pass rusher. Whether that’s a trade for Crosby, signing Hendrickson, it’s going to be top priority. We need a ILB. I really like Kaden Ellis. Sonny Styles should be in our draft range. We also need a tight end and it would be interesting to see this offseason with Kenyon Sadiq
