Do you think female cheerleaders are the only people working for pennies on a dollar in this country?  There are jobs all over that take advantage of people.  At least in the United States we do have a minimum wage(it just hasn't been raised in forever).  Point is, stop making it seem like these poor cheerleaders are the only people working a job that is lousy.  This soapbox isn't going to work on anyone.  Tackle the bigger issue and the smaller ones will take care of themselves.

The classic "If I can find another example of social injustice, it validates this one."  Clever, because it avoids the "right/wrong" thing.

The classic "Im going to lose you in a web of semantics and not address the issue, while not really saying anything to back up my own case" line.  Nice play~

Lol women’s rights? What rights do women not have that men do?

Lmao I’ve done heard it all now. Women that have to follow rules at work don’t have the same rights that men do; who also have to follow rules at work. Lmao this is why no one takes feminism in the US seriously. Go support the women in the Middle East who are actually lacking he same rights men have

"BUT OMG THEY DO IT BY CHOICE"

Everybody does their job by choice. Workplace protections and regulations are still needed for worker protections, because, believe it or not, not everybody really has that much of a "choice" of whether and where to work - and even if they do, they don't deserve yo be subjected to unkind treatment or irrational diktats.

Sure, if you're an award-winning neurosurgeon, you can pretty much pick your spot. But the average American worker doesn't have a ton of choice or mobility in actual practical terms. When you look at low-wage and entry-level jobs - like we're dealing with here - the amount of real "choice" experienced by the average worker is even smaller.

Even if you view the world in purely selfish terms, you should be able to get behind improving the lot of these workers. Whenever "sh*tty" jobs are made better or paid more, it improves the position and perks of the next workers up the chain as well, as their employers have to do more to compete and to continue being seen as "better" jobs. The benefits won at the bottom ramify upward through the market.

Personally the idea of cheerleaders is rather silly and outdated. Players do not get fired up based on their "cheers"..and fans simply "look"....but get fired up over the big screen, or music. There is no purpose to cheerleaders at all other than just meat for dogs to drool over. So why are they even there?

That said, these particular jobs should be eliminated entirely. The retrograde spectacle of the "cheerleader" is an embarrassment to football.

Interesting point. Would you be in favor of elimination if cheerleaders made 100k salaries?

Got a friend who's sister is a current cheerleader for the Top Cats, shes quitting because of the 125# weight limit for the ladies they impose.  I'm genuinely surprised at the reactions on this board.  The team is a multi-billion dollar enterprise and the Top Cats are a part of the "face" of the franchise, yet getting paid next to nothing.  Its pretty embarrassing for the team, but a lot more embarrassing for some of the fools posting on this topic.  I forget the team is in the Carolinas sometimes.  Thanks for the cracker barrel-esque reminder.

Not to shoot you down, but actually women's right in the middle east is starting to become a thing. Especially with upcoming leading Saudi prince. However, different topic.

    • The defense is 28 out of 32 in salary cap allocation for 2025. We have a ton of resources tied up in the offense including the highest paid OL in the league multiple 1st round WR's and multiple recent draft picks across the offense at TE and RB and we have two 1000 yard backs. Bryce and company couldn't get past Tyler Shough and his crew in 2 games. That's all there is to it. You can spin it and put the entire onus on the defense to your heart's desire it doesn't change the fact that this is an OFFENSIVE team now. If you want to argue that we should revert back to a defensive identity as we have been in the past which has brought us success then I will agree with you on that. But as it stands the onus is on the offense because that is where we have invested through the nose. Dave Canales and Bryce Young need to do a hell of a lot better than they have against the rebuilding Saints who without us should only have 2 wins this season.
    • Bryce is not trending up. He is the same QB he has always been. Bottom of the league in most categories.  If Canales thinks he can build a contender with Bryce then he is a bigger idiot then I thought.  Offense next year will have the same issues and be just as inconsistent as it was this year.  We have seen Bryce’a ceiling and it is 175 yards a game and that is not a QB you keep around as your starter. That is barely a backup.
    • Looks like Darnold should have had at least 3 picks. That'll get ugly in the playoffs eventually. Can't deny his physical talent though. You either have that or you don't. Mike Macdonald is a legit coach.
