Insider Info about Possible trade

First of all, I appreciate the info. It sounds too real to be a lie, and I don't know why you'd make it up. For Huddle pie? Come on, people.

Secondly, people don't seem to understand that it takes two teams to make a deal. Info on a smart board is probably just general framework and doesn't necessarily include the details once you get down to the nitty gritty.

Third, John Ross just may be worth a third. Maybe! Olsen certainly was. I mean, it's not like the Bengals are the Patriots. Sometimes teams just don't know what they have, or can't get things to work out. The Bengals are the only team that has tried to "develop" Ross, and I use the term lightly. My thing is that Ross doesn't appear to be a fugup from a mental standpoint, so what the trade would hinge upon is his health---specifically the health of his knees. We have a world class, expert on the issue right on our staff. If Dr. Anderson thinks that the kids knee is not a deal breaker, then I can see why Hurney might take the risk. It's a gamble, but not the end of the world.

It would almost be like swapping KB for Ross.

Your wife is my friend she is older than me ..... I mean it can happen right?

Your answer doesn't really strengthen your position of having a younger intern as a friend. But hey, i'm rooting for you because I like John Ross.

I have nothing to prove, Im not trying to strengthen my position. i just gave you some info.  nothing more nothing less...... i dont see why the age of my friend matter, but if you must know he is younger then me and goes to school at ecpi, he interns with the panthers and he graduates in June he is single, you want me to set your you with him?

The Crabtree thread left a negative impression, that is all. You can be all defensive as you want but that's just how some of us here feel when we see another "insider" thread. No need to set me up, i'm not currently hiring at this time.

I see it this way--if it was a deal about to go down, they would protect it more carefully.  This may have been some opposition research, some fishing, but nothing that serious.

By the way, Lobo, Moore is 6 feet and over 200--not a smurf.  I personally like him more than Ridley.

Didn't Ross play 2 years with Shaq Thompson at UW? I think he did. So there's a connection there too.

Also, I find it very interesting that the Panthers signed this Wright dude to be the slot WR, have Funchess as a supposed #1, traded for Smith to be the #2 guy, and are developing Byrd and Samuel for future roles as slot and #2 guys, and yet are still scouting more WRs like Crabtree and Ross?

They will most likely keep Shepard around until Samuel can come back healthy. But then he gets cut and you have 5 WRs already. What are you trying to do with 6 or more WRs when there are other glaring holes to be filled?

That 3rd could be used on a long-term solution at LG/C, or power RB, or TE, or Safety, etc etc....

Hurney is putting a premium on finding this team some real starting material at WR, and rightly so in my opinion. The problem is that we have to do it in a smart way due to limited funds, and that the draft class is decidedly thin at the position in reference to starting material, so he seems to be focusing on guys with relatively high upside.

WR has arguably been the biggest reason as to why we haven't won a Super Bowl for the last three years. We need legitimate playmakers out on the field, not glorified backups. Because of the market, Hurney just seems to be doing the best that he can.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
