Navarro. He's the most logical choice to be made by a man who makes illogical decisions. Might reconsider what team I support if he is not chosen.

I've speculated this before but if he chooses Kestenbaum, he is throwing a big middle finger to the Carolinas and will be the enemy of the region forever. JR's legacy is already tarnished to an extent, because of rampant sexual misdeeds. He can work to repair his relationship with the local public, or he can make sure the team gets relocated, or the city is at least held hostage, by choosing Kestenbaum.

Navarro. It's something of a homer pic. I love Charleston. It's the greatest place in the universe and I love that Navarro is from here. I'm hoping, if he's the owner, we'll see a bigger Panthers presence in town (though we are much more of a college football town than NFL).

Man, nobody is on the Kestenbaum bandwagon. Five people so far would pick a complete unknown before they'd take him :)

If he wins the bid, there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Few people have faith that he won't hold the city hostage over negotiations, or just move the team outright out of desire.

Whichever owner is not going to listen to the fan base and pander to the media. Whichever owner is going to make winning the Super Bowl the top priority. The opposite of that creep JR.

Yep.  Test 1-Signing our franchise DE (#76) back, to the ecstasy of Marty, RR, TD, Wilks, the D, the team, and the informed fans.  Test 2-get rid of that absurd shield at midfield to the ecstasy of all 15+ million Carolinians.

Navarro

i don’t believe he will move the team out of state

No one is moving out of two football crazed states with 15+ million people, the center of a growing corporate city ($$$), and a two hour or less flight from 60% of the US population.  No one.  Nor would 24 owners approve any such absurdity.

Tidbits from Peralta:

- Four bidders currently involved; Peralta knows who the last one is but can't say

- Times probably didn't talk to Tepper before writing story

- Still possible for another bidder to join the process

- Despite the "interested at the right price" line, Michael Rubin is pretty much out

- Hard to identify a "front runner" because the process is very fluid

-Peralta confirms Ben Navarro  is a lot like Jerry Richardson personality wise

- Navarro is described as a quiet, family oriented guy who's very active within the community

- All the known bidders love the Carolinas as a market; moving is unlikely but still might want a new stadium

- "Inevitable" that a new stadium is built; likely time frame is within the next five to ten years

- Still on track for the new ownership to be finalized at the May ownership meetings

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
