Nobody seems to be talking about Carlton Davis--he is the perfect Panther CB--a bit surprised.  (I have not read every thread and every post, but I have heard all I need about Alexander, Jackson, etc.

Davis' combination of height, weight, length and ball skills make him a nuisance that college wide receivers could do without on Saturdays. Davis has some struggles mirroring routes in space and is best as a full-time press corner who is able to use his length and strength to take wideouts out of their game. Davis plays with confidence and some edge and was able to show and prove against NFL-caliber talent over the last three years. In the right scheme, he could become a high-impact starter.  --NFL Network site

he is strong and would be a good pick...I also think JC Jackson is going to be a good NFL player and he could be gotten in later rounds...

Bradberry is an enigma.  He was better than he played last year, and as a rookie, he was not as good as his numbers would indicate.  I think if we blitz less, he improves.  Look at the DE position last year--Addison and Peppers carried the unit.  Addison, a journeyman who was not drafted and a 37-year old man.  Addison, by the way, will be 31 this year.  Peppers will  be 38.  I doubt they get 22+ sacks again.  Horton?  Run stuff specialist.  Hall?  Unknown commodity--do not expect much.  Charles Johnson is gone.

On the back end, you had Coleman, who seemed a dollar short at every toll booth and Mike Adams, then 36  years old.  We have added DeNorris Searcy to replace Coleman, but have not really upgraded S yet.

When your front 4 is not getting the pressure they need to be getting, you have to blitz, and we did.  However, that leaves the DB in man coverage a lot.  Bradberry was usually locked onto the #1 WR without underneath help most zone CBs need and without consistent  deep help that they must have.  We sent Munnerlyn a lot, which means that Adams or Coleman or a LB (Thompson) took his man.

It depends if you think a De in this draft is a sure fire starter or huge impact guy.

The Panthers had sacks, but not enough pressure on consistently on qbs. Also the dline didn't get much pressure vs Brees which is a huge reason why that midget is so successful vs Panthers.  So a pressure DE/ or DT is needed, but CB is needed with Worley being bust and Bradberry being average to good CB.

Has Davis been in for a visit? He is a good corner.
