Don't Open unless you want to be even more upset at this draft

Lemme just state first, that I am fine with the draft. I'm not overjoyed, but I'm cool. I wanted a bit more Safety help (not a converted CB) and obviously more help on the O-line. But when I looked at this - it made me sick to my stomach.

Remember when Gettleman traded the 4th round pick to Cleveland for Andy Lee??

yeah, Andy Lee, the punter who is no longer on the team... Well that was pick #123 overall and Cleveland took TE Durham Smythe, Notre Dame. Meh, no big deal, I like the potential of Ian Thomas and think he could be the best pick of this draft - even more than DJ Moore. Anyways.. back to the point..
Well right after Cleveland took their TE the #124th pick was by the Chiefs and who did they grab?
They grabbed FS Armani Watts from Texas A&M.

Now, Gaulden sounds really, really, truly smart and a student of the game - I was blown away by his interview here the other day. He will probably be decent at either Safety position. But do you realize we had shots at Justin Reid at the END of the 2nd Rd, Harrison at the END of the 3rd Rd AND we woulda had a shot at Armani Watts in the 4th!? <----- All 3 of those would have been bonafide steals!!!

::Deep breath:: .........but I'm fine, im fine.. my last vent before I welcome everyone with open arms to the Panthers org.
That is all.

32 teams seemed to rate all of these guys substantially lower than some Huddlers did.

Marty went for versatility, toughness, traits and fit. I can live with that. And it's not like there wasn't some level of production out of Gaulden, so who is to say at this point which guy will make more of an impact?

I have made 1 comment and 1 thread simply questioning this draft thru the entire weekend. sh!t - even @Jeremy Igo has voiced his dislike 10x more for these picks than I have. I know he's an edgelord, but I wouldn't call him useless...

if the Huddle is not a place where you come to complain - then I don't even know why this place exists...

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
