This won't make mainstream news. It will stay local, or have a small commentary piece on a network months from now when discussing this off season.

The franchise didnt drag their feet on this one, thankfully.

Don't forget about the Dolphins coach from last year..... thats a franchise nightmare.

It's the first story listed on ESPN.com right now.

So let's see...

Owner accused, under investigation...

GM accused, ex-wife later retracts...

Quarterback accused of sexist remarks, apologizes...

SI article quotes Richardson accuser as saying that team executives knew about and witnessed Richardson's behavior and did nothing...

Assistant Coach accused and investigated, resigns...

Oy :eyeroll:

Newton's story wasn't on the same level as the others, but it's worth noting in this context specifically because he's the only guy who really stood up and took any responsibility for his actions.

Gotta say, housecleaning is looking more and more like the best option once the ownership changes hands.

And yes, that may mean Rivera too. I know some will consider that unfair, but what can you do?

Those two are reaches.

Did you read the police report on the Hurney case? The chick was pyscho. She claimed Marty broke in and went to a novel about killing women, and circled words "threatening her" throughout the entirety of the book. He also caused her pets emotional distress and concern for their lives.....

The Cam thing was simple - just a bone headed joke. If you want to bring up Cam, you should speak of his 2014 phone call asking that girl to come over and dance for him.

The issue in our franchise was the owner. The coach getting caught being perverse (we are assuming) is a tale as old as time.

Only reason the media had to leave Newton alone because that lady was found out be a racist. So yeah that was gonna be a losing battle, so let it go and move on.

I mean some banter always happens at work. I guess a lot of it depends on who you talk to. I can talk to some employees a certain way, that I cannot talk to others. I don't know what they consider "Inappropriate Behavior" to be honest. We all know Sexual Assault/Harassment is no joke but to what extent? Many, are more sensitive than others, which makes the tangled web harder to weave.

I stand corrected if we are going by that regard. It is written by our beat blogger, so I'd expect it to be on ESPN. I just wouldn't anticipate it to be on TV other than being thrown around by talking heads.

That's my fault for being vague. Just like that JR story published by SI, it will be forgotten in 24 hours.

Agreed, but what did he say or do? Regardless of how comfortable I feel about someone, I wouldn’t say “let’s mash parts in the janitor closet”. I’m not saying he did say that, but it’s a workplace. You can’t say sexual things or inappropriate things to people, no matter how close they are. If someone hears you talking to a close a work buddy using foul language or telling a joke oh poor taste, they could complain to your boss. It is best to be civil at work. I get what you are saying though.

Oh no doubt, not saying that "Lets Smash" is not inappropriate... but sometimes even if you compliment on clothes a woman is wearing, or whatever... they take it a oogling and googling.

Meanwhile, the Washington cheerleaders are forced to pose topless and then act as escorts for rich friends of Snyder and not a single investigation has been launched or a single job lost.

I get people want instant justice (firings) these days but that story broke less than 48 hours ago. I'm sure the investigation into Fuller had been going on for weeks behind the scenes before his resignation.

I knew you weren’t saying it was ok, I was just using it as an example. We don’t know yet what he said/did yet. I would assume he said something to a female, but yes you are right, in some cases it is taken way out of context. Sometimes, the story is fabricated for who knows what reason, that’s why I always wait and see the whole story/verdict before I jump on the hate wagon. Unfortunately in today’s society, guilty before proven innocent (by the media) is the new norm. I’m not saying Fuller is innocent, but you get the idea.

Aaahhh, that might not be true either.

From The Observer...

Quote

The investigation was prompted by inappropriate electronic communications with female staff members, multiple sources told the Observer.

The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because the investigation involved a personnel matter. Fuller sent emails and text messages to an unknown number of female employees on the business side of the organization, the sources said.

The Observer has learned of one incident last year that the recipient of the communications said was reported to superiors. It is unclear what action was taken.

So, knew about it last year.

Did...what?

I swear, sometimes I think this team could offer a clinic on how to handle nearly everything the wrong way.

Neither was Hurney's.

And I am not a fan of "housecleaning".  IMO, you get rid of a few people at the top, and keep the good one's.  If you clean house, you are likely to create as many new problems as you are to get rid of the old ones.

I'm not sure the league cares. They just want the stink of Jerry Richardson to go away.

And Hurney's bigger problem might be that the SI accuser said upper management knew what was going on and did nothing.  She didn't name anyone specific, but in a way that makes it worse.

Opinions on the effectiveness of housecleaning aside, I get the feeling that's what the league will want.
