Somebody in another thread said a person cannot get bigger or more explosive.  This is exactly what they are doing when they are doing these type of exercises.

lololol I love the Huddle

God your dumbass.. You as a human being .. Can't gain weight "and" gain explosiveness at the same time.. To add mass you will lose movement and speed.. It's not a opinion.. Its physical law.  Dummy..

Somebody said a person can’t get bigger or stronger? Huh, interesting. I guest body builders are born lookin like that.

It was actually bigger and faster.. Not bigger and stronger.. Because you know those body builders are known for their speed and agility..lol

By that logic I should be able to run faster than anyone over 160 lbs.  I can't tho.

This is dumb. 8th grade running back runs a 4.7 at a skinny 145. That same person as a senior in high school  weighs 210 and runs a 4.5. That same person comes out of college running a 4.4 at 225

This is the dumbest thing ever posted on this site, re-evaluate your life.

So you didn't see the part about "adding" on mass.. This isn't a natural weight thing or what you're naturally born with...  You can be a fast person at 245 lb if you're god giving a fast person.. But you're not going to "add" mass and weight and get more explosive...

You fuging idiot that's natural getting older and growing .  Not going out trying to add weight on unnaturally..

Example eating more putting on more muscles. Will add weight..and slow you down.. alot of muscle are also a deterrent from flexibility.. That's why basketball players don't go hard in the weight room..

My point was.. Ridely body frame unlike Moore isn't built to carry more weight without losing speed and agility.

You can definitely add muscle mass(and total weight) and gain speed. Eventually the amount of muscle mass you add will likely cause a drop in your speed but to say that it "isn't possible" to add mass and gain explosiveness(speed, agility, etc) is just not at all accurate. An oversimplification, at best.

I disagree.. You can't add mass to a natural human frame without losing something on the other end.. More muscle you gain the less flexibility you have the more weight you gain your explosiveness takes a hit.. You don't gain anything.. Now you can figure the right ratio where you don't lose anything.. But gaining without losing won't happen..

If that were the case Jonathan Stewart would now run a 4.3 at 30 years old and 240lbs

He got older and grew. Get you some learning boy.

I think you are being a little too absolute about the issue. It is certainly more than possible to add mass/weight to your body and get some "explosiveness" gains. I assume you are talking about things like vertical jump, speed, agility drills, etc when you reference "explosiveness." May as well define the terms if we are going to have the debate.

Anyway, the point you make about natural speed, agility, etc is valid in that some people have natural abilities. But you often see track athletes, NFL players and other professional athletes add some muscle mass and be able to see gains in speed, vertical, agility, etc. But, it's definitely not a linear scale so you are right about it being the right ratio of adding that muscle mass and maintaining or adding explosive athletic abilities.

    • WR: Nico, Woods, Tank (R) TE: Schultz OL: Tunsil/Howard/Deiter/Mason/Fant vs. WR: Chark, Thielen, Mingo (R) TE: Hurst OL: Icky/Zavala (R)/Bozeman/Jensen (R)/Moton   Panthers' had the better OL before losing BC week 1 and AC week 4 which is kind of ironic considering how in the following year DB went down in W1 and Shaq in W4 resulting in the defense going all to Hell. CJ has done amazing in Houston, but he also wasn't asked to carry Zavala, Jensen, Mingo, Hurst, and Chark as a rookie.
    • Past 5 seasons, IMO CJ Stroud and Joe Burrow are the 2 best young QBs that have emerged in the league in that window.  They also didn’t need vets to be their primary pass catchers.  They helped fellow youngsters be great at WR.   almost all the other young QBs have been paired up with vets in their top options….and haven’t been as promising.  so it isn’t Madden.  But the league hasn’t played out as you suggest it does.   Good QBs make others around them better.
    • In 2023 their roster wasn’t stacked. They nailed the poo out of the 2023 draft and since they knew Davis Mills wasn’t the guy, they tanked properly to get pick 2. They also took Cleveland’s ridiculous offer for Watson unlike us with Burns. Houston received enough draft capital to jump up to 3 while picking up the right guys in Anderson and Stroud. The Texans were not stacked or better than us in 2023. They had 11 total wins from 2020 to 2022. They didn’t have a terrible front office so they made sure they got their QB of the future while tanking well and getting more draft picks. They are a textbook study of what we should have done in 2022/2023 offseason even though people in here still think tanking is a bad word and our culture would be bad if we were the Texans. We literally had the chance to be the Texans right now and fuged it up.
