Gantt believes the league will force a sale to Tepper

As a business person, I can easily see the allure of Tepper over Navarro. Tepper isn't going all in on this purchase. He doesn't have to. Navarro isn't even able to do it without other investors. If I were on the selection committee, I would be looking at who knows how to make money, knows how to spend money, and doesn't need any more money. If you sink your entire net worth into something, it's going to affect the way you run the business, and that pressure doesn't always lead to good decision making. It might make one seem like more of a wild card to some old, stodgy, rich guys.

Most posters on here would love a guy like Warren Buffett to own the team, and Tepper is from the same mold. Smart use of funds, proper valuations, leveraging connections and the ability to walk away.

Also, senior discounts are based on age, not the time of day you eat your meal. That sounds like a BS story to me.

Also, fug Jerry Richardson and his weird, leg shaving ass.

I forget who, but someone on here actually verified that was legit.

One other thing that made bother some people about Tepper is the expectation then if he owns the team, he'll be running the show from Miami.

Yes, he can get here easily enough, but  fair or not people don't really like the idea of an absentee owner.

Senior discounts vary widely, I've worked in dozen different restaurants all had different policy's,  its totally plausible that a certain restaurant only extends a senior discount at a certain time, they are usually very early right after lunch in that dead space while the kitchen/wait staff gear up for the main dinner rush.

If this is true it is some petty bs on the part of the NFL. Just give it to the guy who wants to own the CAROLINA Panthers. Tepper seems like a jerk to be quite honest. Though to be fair to him I have only heard the things about him through the media. The media is not quite the trust factory now days.

For all of you in the Charlotte market who go to the games, you may want to root for the lowest bid winning.  The higher the eventual bid , the higher the ticket prices, parking and concessions and yes the more likely a new stadium requirement.

All of the groups bidding will most likely have new stadium on the list of things needed to make the purchase worth while. It's really one of the only ways to seriously boost the value of a nfl team quickly.

I get the feeling the league is playing the long game (or really the short game):

NFL forces a sale to Tepper
Tepper raises ticket prices, says he wants a new stadium
Fans revolt, ticket sales drop
Tepper prepares to spend $0 on stadium, city/state balk on spending $1+ billion
Tepper moves the team
Tepper sells the team
Tepper makes modest profit
NFL popularity continues to plummet

The thing is I'd take Tepper and the league is getting what it wants from day one. I'm sure this was all orchestrated to happen. Personally, I don't want a guy that JR approves in there b/c who knows if JR will indirectly be speaking in Navarro's ear about player personnel. We should go in the direction the league is going because if JR really wants a guy in there, that means that guy shares his vision. I'm sick of trying to be the pittsburgh steelers. fuging hate that franchise. We need a new identity. Plus if we do get the indoor stadium, we'll get Super Bowls. We could still be the first team to host and win one. However, it would be nicer winning in Atlanta this year.

So your solution to be less like the Steelers is to have the new owner be a former minority owner OF THE STEELERS.  Do you have any clue what you're even talking about?

El oh El.   Can this get any crazier?   Looks like old Jerry doesn't have the favor of the league anymore.  All those years protecting the "shield" won't even allow him to sell to the highest bidder.  Talk about a fall from Grace.

I love this poo. I hope it hets nasty.

Do you suck your thumb at night? Tepper is about making money. The Panthers have always been in the top half in the league in revenue unlike the other pro teams that have relocated within the past 30 years. You know how he makes the most money when he buys the Panthers? By keeping them in Charlotte.

Cool story “Sam Mills Fan” tell me how you  came up with that dope name. Part of me wants to let Tepper buy the team just to watch Internet hardassss like you cry when your teams ran by an absentee owner out of town, and for the “I laughed so hard at the fluff pieces saying he’s a saint when he made his money off of DEBT COLLECTION!” So hit pieces are relevant but not fluff pieces... (okay)  Also what happened to the badass reverence for hardcore Tepper capitalism you just had?  People have to pay their fuging bills right? You can’t have it both ways homie.

You’re an idiot.

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
