Tepper is the guy: Love it or hate it?

Like it, time will tell if I love it.  Seemingly couldn't ask for a more different personality than JR.  Hopefully he brings a knowledge of how successful franchises work.  Doesn't strike me as the type that will be yes man for the league or anybody else.  Hope his experience with the Steelers has shown him the value of uptown open aired stadiums...

if there is any real concern, he has been portrayed as a guy that might have the tendency to meddle in day to day, but hope not.  Don't think the team moving should be a concern.

What happens if he decides we need "change" at quarterback?

Mind you, I don't think that's gonna happen, but I do have to acknowledge that it's possible.

his team, his decision ... its all going to be very interesting...this team is sewn loosely together and i'm afraid anything like that could send us in a downward spiral for years...i'm not taking the bait on Cam...good try... :)

I'm old enough to know that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. We really have no way to know how this will go until we see it happen. I think we all hope it goes well, but no need to celebrate the move until we see what unfolds. We have been relatively successful the last half-decade. There is no guarantee that continues.

It's not bait.

Newton's contract runs a few more years. Lots of folks think it's a given that he'll be extended at a huge price. And with Jerry Richardson in charge, that was a reasonable expectation.

Can we assume that with David Tepper?

It's hard to imagine Tepper making any kind of immediate change, but once Newton's contract is up, can we really guarantee he'll be extended?

Unknown. And frankly, it's something I'm not even going to try to predict.

But that’s only the beginning. If Tepper — a Florida hedge fund manager worth an estimated $11 billion — does indeed buy the team from Jerry Richardson as multiple reports have indicated and get approved at the NFL owners meeting later this month, here are nine questions I would like Tepper to answer right away.

1. Can you guarantee that the Panthers will stay in Charlotte for the long term?

The reason he's the owner and not Navarro is because he's a yes man to the NFL.
