julio jones skips falcons voluntary OTAs

He’s pushing for a raise. He’s relatively underpaid. Sounds like the falcons are prepared to do it for him, and he has their blessings for skipping OTAs anyways.  He’s training, but elsewhere.

biggest non issue of all the non issues right now.

hope the falcons end up overpaying him.

Two blowout wins the last two times he didn’t play.

He wasn’t at OTA’s last year either.  Doesn’t mean much.

Over 16 game span, you take away Julio Jones from the falcons they will struggle.

not sure why anyone would argue against this.... He is literally 40% of the offense. He isn't there because he wants a pay raise. He actually said it to the franchise.

Last year it was due to staying healthy.

interesting situation.  He's making over 10 mill a year and is signed for 4 more years iirc  and wants more money.  He's pretty much a bargain at that deal, and seeing other wr's (and even his QB) getting mega deals is eating at him.

Falcons have him under contract though, and they just used a first on a WR.

Might be fun to watch how this plays out.

Oh he’s a huge part of the offense for sure...still don’t believe the Falcons would have a bottom offense without him right now.

I saw the tweet from Ian but it certainly did not say he told that to the franchise.

He is reportedly looking for a "correction or update" to his current deal.

I assume the quotations means he or his agent said this, right?

I think he needs to ink this deal before Ridley laces up some cleats, because that percentage is bound to go down.

    • Not sure how much he was a long term piece of this team.   Sucks to not have him as part of the rotation.   Looks like it's Lee Hunter time.
    • This post was an error. Oops and sorry for the errors in the previous one. Too slow to edit.   We’ll see what they do.
    • I am not sure he will put the over the games but we’ll probably have them.   Two things I am thinking.  We have 4 preseason games.  All the coaches have enough service time to know the standards that are in place for decades. If I recall it was play your starters just a series to start woth and build it up until week theee where play a lot and you have week four to set hour roster. Evaluate before cuts.   Bevell will certainly have the whole thing down pat.   I’d they don’t do the fries and frie air will worry too. Because it is set up to do that.     I have said since they went t three preseason people have to figure a new way are still feeling it out and trying things.  We don’t have to this year.
